  2. Are you high?

Exactly where is McCall about to hit the floor? Was he even hurt?

  3. Kotelnik landed numerous shots on Khan, and didn't hurt him once. Kotelnik has ko'd, and hurt other fighters with supposed better chins than Khan.

    Find another scapegoat.

Vitali is tall and strong and just leans aways from his opponent's punches. He also never seems to let himself get out of shape.

It also depends on a fighter's punching technique. If a boxer is throwing himself into his punches, the impact when his opponent hits him would be greater than if he sits back when punching.

Ray Mercer had a good chin until later in his career, then Wladimir Klitschki mopped the floor with him and Shannon Briggs KO'd him.

Vitali has a good chin, but fans overrate him saying he has a great chin when he really doesn't.

Vitali doesn't have a proven chin like Ali, Fraizer, Foreman, Chuvalo, Holyfield, etc.

There's not some significant gap in time that the topic of this thread would seem to suggest considering that Oliver McCall and Evander Holyfield are still active. Those guys have world-class chins.

Again, Vitali's chin at this point is overrated. His fighting style simply doesn't allow it to be rated properly at this time. He fights going backwards, uses his reach well and usually rolls away from the punch. Unless you see him eating shots the way Holyfield or even Tyson did, its difficult to judge his chin.

I don't see why many of you put Holyfield in the same bracket as Tua and McCall.

Ok first off that "knockdown" of Vitali by sanders was no knockdown. It's blatant bias to say that it was.

Second off Sander's seemed to be the more skilled fighter that night, it's a good example of how conditioning can affect the outcome of a fight. The fight in Round 8 looked much like the fight in round 1, only Sander's was exhausted and Vitali wasn't. Vitali always comes to win, have to give him that.

Concussions become progressively easier to get. Some people think that "chin" or "punch resisitance" as it is sometimes called is a magical property, and to an extent, it is. But basic medical facts apply.
