I don't even understand why he would want this fight now, except for the big payday he would get. Honestly, beating a 43 year old Lennox Lewis who's been inactive for 6 years won't do anything for his legacy. He could as well fight Mike Tyson...
seems like Vitali still has psychological issues about LOSING to Lewis so long ago.

There are better fights for Vitali out there, even in this weak division. What about taking Valuevs belt or facing mandatory challenger JC Gomez? Both much tougher challenges than old Lennox Lewis at this point.

Completely pointless fight at this point.

Well at least he wants to unify with Valuev. After seeing how good Vitali was after 4 years off I don't think Lennox should come back unless he just wants the money. Who knows what will happen.

As it stands, even a 43 year old Lewis woudl probably be Vitalis' toughest fight.

I think everyone will agree with that. Not to mention, making by FAR, the most income for all involved.

Even at 43, Lewis/Vitali still makes sense to me, given that he'd destroy, pretty easily, everyone in the current scene, and the real money, AND test, still lies, mostly, with Lewis.

But I'd rather see him unify with the WBA, personally.

Vitali is like a broken record hes been crying like a baby since Lennox bust him up in 03, even if this fight happend and Vitali won in the First Round it would prove nothing, people would just say Lennox just wanted the money and rightfully so.

Compared to Valuev vs Vitali I'd watch Lewis vs Vitali altough it would be a freak show

Don't think so at all, Lewis is really old and not even close to fighting shape.

Hope it doesn't happen it does nothing for the division. Vitali couldn't outdo himnself winning a rematch.

I can't really see the logic for this fight from Vitali's perspective, if he loses then he lost to a 43 year old who retired six years ago, if he wins then, so what, he beat a 43 year old legend who has been inactive for six years. For Lennox is makes slightly more sense if he wants the money, but he has already beaten a prime Vitali once so what exactly would the point be.

43 is not seen as old, these days, as it once was.

And while he is clearly out of shape, now, don't you think he'd prepare and get himself in condition, if he knew this fight was coming up?

He just can't let it go, the fact he got bust up, he'll be asking for a rematch when hes an OAP.

I hope that Lennox is not swayed by money here. These old guys fighting way past their prime is taking away from the sport. I liked Lennox back in his day but to come out of retirement now would be ridiculous. Boxing needs age limits and/or a senior division if these old guys want to keep fighting. Vitali should make the most of his comeback and take out the rest of the overrated journeyman garbage within the division instead of calling out long retired Lennox.

Lennox stated a while back on HBO that he was NOT coming back...I hope the money doesn't sway him from that decision. Stick to commentating.
