The question in my mind is whether the opponent had the same physical stature, or is his ability to avoid punches solely based on his height and reach advantage.

There was way more to both of those then bending below the waste all the time.
Fact remains its illegal, so should we allow it or not cause if so we should be changing the rule books.
People that bend below the waste can only be hit on the back of the head, so what do we do about it?

 

Vitali is not a defensive Wizard, but he is hard to hit due to his size and the way he leans back. But against taller fighters he does not adapt.

This thread is stupid - Viltali has many great strenghs but defesive skills are not one o fthem.

There is a bit more to it then that.
He also leans WAY in givingup his height and reach to provoke a punch from his opponant to then lean either back or to the side and then do a solid counter.

If his timing and anticipation was not on a pretty high level he would not be able to do that seeing as everyone labels him as slow.
He does this vs fighters that are supposed to be a lot quicker than him.

If it was as easy as just leaning back people like Fury, Fields, Helenius etc would all be able to do it.

He was also able to do this frequently vs Lewis, and yes he got tagged at times but do you really think there was ever any fighter in history at HW that could avoid all punches by a ATG like Lewis?
