    Nobody comes close.

Foreman, Holyfield, Holmes, Thompson, Moore, etc. Great 40+ year old HW's, but not as good as Vitali. :deal

I doubt anyone could argue with that,
but so what that he is?
is he the best 66th fight hw ever?
would it mean anything if he was?

not to bring the hate, wlads an atg hw.

edit; the best 47 fight hw ever? i don't know how old wlad is and can't read properly

    I would have to agree.

You might make a case for somebody else resume wise, but head to head he stands alone.

Yeah I can't think of any heavyweight, forty or beyond who would have beaten him. But its also largely due to the kinds of physical tools that he had which aided him in old age. He certainly wasn't the most skilled.

Saying VK is the "so called best" 40+ heavyweight ever is as debatable as the day is long:zzz, he turned 40 in mid 2011, who the hell did he fight worth a **** after he turned 40:huh..

I'll take Foremans accomplishments any day of the week 2x on Sunday, will you see VK knocking anyone out at 45 like Foreman did:-(

In fact ill take Foremans whole career over VK'S! if you wanna debate who had the better career? anyone disagrees with that is just plain dumb:nut..

Hell VK WASN'T EVEN THE BEST HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTER IN HIS OWN FAMILY, that would go to his brother who beat a slew of much better fighters than VK did:deal, OH and had a better career also i may add..

    He beat :
    Tomasz Adamek
    Dereck Chisora
    Manuel Charr

He only looked any good in the Adamek fight.

Not exactly evidence of him being better than the Holmes of 1992 or the Foreman of 1990-'91.

In fact, you would expect a 40-year-old Archie Moore to look as good against Adamek, Chisora and Charr.

Slow as molasses 90's Foreman was involved in many controversial decisions with no-so good fighters... Guys that 40+ year old Vitali would have been able to beat easily. Vitali didn't need judges to give him gift decisions, or hail marry knockouts to succeed at 40+. :deal

For the record I think Vitali will be making another comeback... :good

The same Foreman who went life and death with Schultz, Savarese, and Alex Stewart???? Arguably lost to all of those guys, yet he still got the decision. Face it. Other than one punch against Moorer, Big George was very mediocre at 40+ Lost to every good HW he faced, and received plenty of gifts! :good

Vitali will comeback in 2017 and become the oldest man to win a HW title.

i agree, just seems like Vitali nuthugging.

Holmes was a capable 40+, his problem was he had guys like Tyson, Holyfield, Mercer, Mcall to deal with.

i think you'll find Foreman was facing a higher level of opposition as well.

im sure Foreman would have looked amazing against the likes of Adamek etc

Foreman became champ at the age of 45. Still a lethal puncher. Vitali looked like **** in his last couple of fights, was pressed by chisora and that turkish guy. Vitali was only 42 at the time he retired. Foreman was two months shy of his 49 years birthday. In his last two fights at age 48 he beat Young lions like Savarese and Briggs. (Yes, he did beat Briggs). Stop nuthugging Vitali.
