This Dwyer guy is very interesting. I have seen his stuff before. He's spot on.

Seriously though. Vitali is always going to be a nightmare for anyone to beat. Coupled with his height and reach advantages, he has an iron chin and very good power (although he seems to be throwing more and more arm punches recently).

Although I like Haye, I'm not convinced by his footwork. It's one thing getting out of range of the lumbering Valuev, The Klitschko brothers, on the other hand, are much more adept at closing the distance. They also punch with a lot more spite.

This would be my main point. Johnson landed 5. And Vitali's face was marked up.

What happens when he faces someone with speed and power like Haye who will land a significantly larger amount of shots?

Vitali's face will fall apart leading to a TKO. It will be similar to the Lewis fight in terms of scoring but the outcome will be the same.

Im VERY confident Haye wins by TKO on cuts

I think Vitali showed he is not in his prime anymore, but still very good at what he does.

    - He outpointed KJ in the best way possible (winning every round)
    - He did not gas out, despite age and throwing 1000 punches
    - He dominated an undefeated contender.

    BUT

    - Vitali did nothing like hooks or uppercuts to mash KJ's face when he ducked,
    - Vitali didn't change tactics for 12 rounds, except for trying to enrage KJ in the 12th,
    - He hit Arreola and Johnson with hundres of jabs and power punches, and was unable to rock or knock them down. This means, his punches are far from the shots he once fired,
    - the few punches and jabs of KJ scratched him good, and he already lost a match due to cuts. If those jabs had been punched with Tuas or Hayes power, VK could have been TKOd by cuts again.

BTW, I doubt Tua or Haye will be able to KO Vitali (defense & chin are too good), but a TKO on cuts is possible.

(Edit: didn't read Godfather's entry before posting this)

Yeah, but it's how they landed that allowed Johnson to stay in there so long. If every power shot hit while Kevin's head was already moving away from the punch it would obviously take some steam off the punch.

Johnson landed only 5 power punches but he landed many jabs too.

    Good post :thumbsup

I would add that Vitali's balance looked awful. KJ put him off balance with a little bit of movement and the occasional jab. KJ couldnt take advantage as he is a ***** and was only there to show he could avoid punches.

I believe Haye will pounce on Vit when he gets him off balance.

BTW, although it may not seem it, I am not a massive fan of Haye. I am mostly a fan of his honesty outside the ring. He is a bit too negative inside the ring for me

I appreciate Hayes ability to appear fit and well trained in the ring, which few other HWs do. Further, his speed and power can't be denied. Finally, he kept his battle plan vs. Valuev for 12 rounds, and didn't change it (and taking risks). Which means, he has enough wits to actually dictate a fight, even if the game looked aweful to the fans.

I am really disappointed by his dirty talking, his T-shirts, and that he avoided to fight both brothers this year. Even if Sentanta could not pay him, he COULD have re-negotiated the contract with Wlad (who was EAGER to punish Haye) - Wlad would have given Haye a share to make the fight happen. Instead of telling the truth, he played possum.

After that, he negotiated a fight with Vitali, and had the final (even signed) contract on the desk, but chose to fight Valuev instead. He bargained on two fights at the same time, without saying so.

The impression of "all bark no bite" and at least blundering or perhaps dishonest negotiations remain at the end of the year.

haye would dismantal VK so easily the guy has no balance to variation in his punches and hes not at all hard to hit, he has shocking footwork also. haye is too fast too powerful and too slick for VK
and when this fight finally happens faith will be restored to the crappiest division in the sport

Something was wrong with Vitali he was never so unmotivated looking, he did win and all but he looked so demotivated its indescribable.
I hope its just a temporary effect, a bad day that happens to everybody.

gotta go down as one of the most boring fights of all time. value for money eh.

But hey he won anyways :)

Haye punches harder than Lewis now? Lets see Haye knock out a top ten heavy, because as of yet he hasn't proved anything apart from his ability to run away.

the same haye that dismantled sasquatch in a much easier fashion than a shot to **** holyfield and a way over the hill john ruiz, right?

david haye will incur a vaginal tear when those ukranian jabs begin to land flush (and im british) he will look silly!!

vitali took a bolo uppercut from lewis, smiled and kept coming....

if thomson, mormeck and mock can floor the hyperbole machine then just wait till a pissed iron chinned vitali klitcsko (old or not) sets his sights on him,he can only run for so long...

look at this all powerful elusive slick machine....

I haven't seen the fight, but last time people were saying stuff like this when I finally got to see the fight, my thought was Vitali is just so damned relaxed in the ring.

Vitali's eye saved Lewis from getting KTFO.
