Only if you are disingenuous and ignore that the stoppage was on a cut.

So what? Stoppage on a cut is a legitimate TKO. Vitali looked like he was ran over by a truck. Lewis literally smashed his face in.

Lost while winning on the cards is the equivalent of a Football team having 80 percent possession and losing 3 0

No one is disputing it's a legitimate win. But cuts aren't decisive wins to me. Yes, you win cause you were fortunate enough that your punches opened up a cut that seriously endangered the opponent. But it's not the same as a concussion KO or even points victory. I'd rather win by points than on a lame cut.

    1. Lewis was 38. About the same age as Usyk when he beat Fury. Of course people, especially athletes, age differently, but Lewis matured for a long time. The same people who say Lewis matures like young wine claim that he was completely finished at 38.

    2. Fighters like Usyk need legs. Legs go first. Anyone who has fought for a long time knows that. What doesn't age? The reach of the hands. What goes last? The power of the punch.. Lewis had a cosmic reach and a monstrous power of the punch.

    3. Someone wrote above that Vitali's best fight was Adamek. With Adamek, Vitali was 40 and looked like he was in his prime. Lewis was 38 and was supposed to be old.. two years earlier Lewis gave a rematch to Rahman and he himself called it the best performance of his career. two fights later Lewis is already the weakest in his career, sure.. the fight with Tyson probably exhausted him so much.

    4. Lewis was a stylistic nightmare for Vita. A NIGHTMARE!! I don't know how many of you boxed, those who are practitioners will know what I mean.. Vitali with his low guard, leaning on the back leg and sticking out his hands was extremely vulnerable to an opponent whose most dangerous weapon was a long, overhand right. The one that cut him.

20 months before Buster Douglas Mike Tyson had the best performance of his career against Michael Spinks. 3 fights later Mike is already "the weakest in his career" to that point, sure... The fights with Bruno and Williams probably exhausted him so much.

Fight shouldn't of been stopped ?

It was one of the worst cuts ever seen Vitali needed surgery after and like 60 stitches needing 6 months for the cuts to heal.

I'm sure Vitali is still grateful he can see out of both eyes properly rather than taking a very poor ill informed opinion from someone on a boxing forum.

I think styles thing goes both ways. Vitali was taller than Lewis and continuously pressured his opponents. Lewis had almost no defense beyond being rangier than the other guy and could be really sloppy with his feet at times.

of course, but that shows that Lewis had big flaws. Just like Vitali.. but Lewis was better suited to fight Vitali than the other way around. Style favored Lewis. Best regards

Vitali was kind of unlucky there yes. But a Lewis grazing punch caused it.

He couldnt even do what Hasim Rahman did vs a possibly even worse version of Lennox Lewis than the one in South Africa

Also Vitali and his team were not going to quit/throw in the towel after the backlash they received from the public after throwing in the towel vs Chris Byrd. It could have gotten really dangerous.

Who cares about leading on the cards? That fight obviously wasnt going the distance

Lennox Lewis most likely wouldve stopped Vitali Klitschko within the next few rounds
