Vitali Klitschko lost to the worst version of Lennox

Vitali is underrated. Way up on Chris Byrd scorecard before he busted his shoulder. Gave Lennox a good fight but yes it was a legitimate loss via busting his face up. If that's not a win condition, and more impressive than a points win to you, I don't know what to say..

 

I punched him in a way that busted him up, gotta be lucky right? Not the fact I threw accurate shots at his face until it concaved...

 

I don't think Lewis retired solely based on getting out of a rematch with Vitali. If Lewis really wanted to continue fighting he could have just dragged the rematch out while fighting other guys. Something that fighters do all the time. The fact he never really tried to make a come back, shows he was done with the sport. But, it sure would have been nice to see a rematch with both guys full prepared for eachother.

 

The WBC ordered him to fight Vitali. Lewis waited until the last minute. When the WBC ordered him to give Vitali a rematch, he gave up the belt despite the big money on the table.

 

So he's underrated because he lost 2 out of his 4 biggest fights?

 

Lewis was certainly far from his prime and at the end of his career. At the time of the stoppage (very fair) the scorecards of the 3 judges said 58-56 in favor of Klitschko. For me that was a more than honorable defeat for Vitali, who I consider a truly strong and unlucky boxer, injuries kept him out for years.

 

He did, but I give him his due respect for Sanders and Peter.
