Vitali and his team probably didnt want to do it based on the way the first fight ended

I just watched the last round again and Vitali was a dead man walking. Lennox Lewis was walking right through his punches. Lennox Lewis would have stopped him within the next few rounds.

Do you think that Vitali chose the harder path by attacking Lewis?

Vitali came back after surgery and sitting out four years and won 10 fights. Lennox wasn't injured and had no surgery and never came back.

Well, if he could come back, then the case for him ducking Rahman is even stronger. Lewis didn't come back which showed he was finished.

Wasn't Vitali selected on short notice?, like 2 weeks only?

Either way, both deserve a lot of credit for the fight. It was an explosive fight from start to finish.

Yet Vitali took Lennox's best punch (that brutal uppercut) and was still standing. Nobody knows what would have happened.

 How do you 'duck' a guy who was KOed twice by Glass Jawed Maskaev? The same Maskaev who was KOed by Peter who Vitali proceeded to make quit on his stool.

The same way you "duck" a guy who quit on his stool against Chris Byrd and who you just stopped turning his face into mince meat :p

Rahman beat Sanders who would go on to destroy Wladimir.

Well Vitali wasn't originally scheduled to fight Lewis he was a replacement for Johnson.

I still think Byrd would've been the best win of Vitali’s career though yes.
