    Muhammad Ali 56(37)-5(1)-0
*Decision against George Chuvalo, who was nobody special whatsoever. Ali afterwards beat the likes of Frazier, Norton and most famously Foreman.

    Mike Tyson 50(44)-6(5)-0
*Decision against Donovan Ruddock. Who? Exactly. Tyson afterwards beat Botha, Seldon and Bruno.

    Lennox Lewis 41(32)-2(2)-1
*Deicision against Zeljko Mavrovic who in reality never beat anyone worthy. Lewis afterward beat Holyfield, Tyson and Rahman.

    Roy Jones Jr 54(40)-6(3)-0
*Decision against David Telesco. Yeah, that guy. You remember him? No?
Jr afterwards defeats Ruiz, Lacy and Trinidad.

    Wladimir Klitschko 53(47)-3(3)-0
*Decision against Sultan Ibragimov. Afterwards beats Chagaev, Thompson and Rahman.

The above are consider great, awesome fighters. They are held in high regard for their achievements. People call them legends, not so much Wlad who some dislike as much as his bro.

    Then we have

    Vitali Klitschko 39(37)-2(2)-0

The above has had only two fights end in decision, 2 losses which are a result from sustained injuries and the highest KO %.
The first argument is that "Vitali hasn't fought anyone worthy".

Bullsh*t. It is an error of judgement to compare today's fighters with past fighters.
It's like little kids comparing Superman and Spiderman and how so much better one is than the other. So that argument fails.

The fighters mentioned first are held in high regard and yet their records have no hold on Vitali Klitschko.

VK may not reign for much longer, he may go downhill from here but as of today, he has accomplished things many past legends have not.

If other boxers can have decision wins against opponents of questionable skill, come back and do better than there is no reason why VK can't come back in his next and do much better. Haye beware.

    Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko...ATGs.

PS: Still can't help thinking this fight's performance was just a cover by the Klitschkos' to draw Haye in fastest.

I don't understand how people can come to the conclusion hes finished, it takes two for a tango, means to make for an interesting fight, johnson refused to participate in the dance, he was happy losing the rounds in exchange for the bragging rights that hes become the only 2nd fighter not to get stopped by Vitali.

He's not finished but I think he is slightly on the downward spiral. He seems a little slower in his reflexes and doesn't seem to put as much in his punches any more (and no I'm not just basing this on the Johnson fight). I reckon he has about 3 more fights in him before age catches up with him.

Vitali Klitschko is certainly still a dominant force in he ring and he may still have a couple of more high-profile wins. Every champ has his share of boring decision wins.

Not even close to being done? Even he has admitted he doesn't want to be around much longer. He's close. ...He's close.

You can quote all the statistics you won't but it's injuries that have caught up with Vitali.

And performing badly to lure Haye into a fight!!!
Do you know how desperate that sounds??

    Well spoken,flurry!!:good:good:good

Johnson didnt even try to win a single round of his encounter with Vitaly. What a negative ring clown and showboater he was!!
Without his American passport he would never had gotten a shot at Vitaly 's title and would still be fighting on small American fight cards beating up local janitors and bouncers.

Why the hell didnt get Ondrej Pala get a shot at the world title? The courageous young Czech has fought better opposition than that flippy American no-hoper.Whats more he would have given it a serious try going down with flying colours.

Johnson? Pah! Vitaly should have never fought such a negative boxer!!!!

It takes two to tango, not two for a tango, or two to tangle

    Sounds fair.

I think the main reason for the arm punches now is that:

    - he doesn´t need to KO his opposition with one punch (sustained damage seems to be enought at least for the likes of Arreola, Peter...)
    - in his earlier fights nearly always hurt his hands badly because of his punchpower.

...but he is 38 and a body is not 20 anymore (I know what I am speaking of because I am in the same position with being 35 and doing workouts with much younger mates) so you have to change your style of fighting...

that sounds like a fair assessment
though I personally before calling him to be on the slide will want to wait for his next fight, because provided his next opponent´s style suits him better and is a bit more come forward it ll be easier to see whether or not hes stagnating or even fading. Given this was only the second time someones managed to go the distance (the first coming a decade ago) and seeing this man had extraordinary upperbody movement to make Vitali look bad, make him look methodical and predictable its unlikely the same thing will happen a second time in a row. If it does we can conclude he might be sliding (though still good enough to beat the current crop out there)

Vitali Klitschko is going to get beat soon if he continues fighting. If I were Vitali I would stay away from Eddie Chambers, Tomasz Adamek, and Alexander Povetkin. BUT eventually he will fight David Haye and he will lose David Haye too.

Vitali always looks best if someone is really trying to fight him. Hide, Lewis, Kirk Johnson, Danny Williams, Arreola really tried to beat Vitali and were probably his best fights. Byrd, Hoffmann and Kevin Johnson were very timd and Vitali had his poorest showings aginst them. If a fighter just tries to survive and is smaller like Johnson, Vitali's height actually works against him. Many smaller fighters that Vitali would beat could have looked better against Kevin Johnson.
