Ali landed multi punch combinations on Chuvalo and looked great for the majority of the fight!

Ruddock was one of the most dangerous heavyweights on the planet before Tyson destroyed him! Are you kidding me?

Jones looked spectacular against Telesco despite going the distance!

Lewis didn't look great against that dude but who cares, he looked 100 times better than Vitali did.

Please stop menntioning fighters of this calibre whilst trying to defend Saturday's night's bull****!

I stopped reading there. you just exposed your lack of knowledge.
Prime Ruddock was better than anyone Vitali has beaten. FACT.

:good Excellent analysis! And as for David Haye, when Vitali beats him, how much will that victory really count for? To my mind the Vitali is an ATG regardless of who he fights from now on, because it appears that "Peak" Vitali, who earns ATG status, is a few years past!

:good A "Prime" Razor Ruddock was a serious contender and he would have been a threat to both brothers. One things for certain, he wolud not have been afraid to give it a go!!! people crab Ruddock simply because Lewis took him out in two, but that was one of Lewis's finest performances!! Lewis, training hard and fighting with a bit of fear would have been almost unbeatable, in any era!

    Really???

I very much doubt it! All this crap that fighters like Holmes or Witherspoon would have wiped the floor with today's fighters are speculations.
Everyone here is entitled to his opinion, but a lot of people tend to see long past fights very positively. A trip down memory lane makes people soft and they tend to glorify past events and fighters.
Lets be fair and objective: fighters like Joe Louis or M.Ali or Larry Holmes were great in their eras.
Nevertheless, they would probably stand no chance against today's top heavies.
Ali's defence was quite sloppy, and Holmes was as slow as a plodding ox on a farm.
Great fighters in their era,but I very much doubt that they would be that outstanding fighters in today's game.

Even if you were right and fighters of the past couldnt compete todays times. (I dont agree BTW)

This would still be terrible example, because Razor Ruddock was top contender and murderous puncher in his time. Not some unknown bum who Tyson had offnight with. He was much better victory for Tyson than Seldon or Botha
