    "Everybody has to be clean"

    no in actual fact

"Everybody has to be on something, and ensure they do not get caught"

Povetkin's main crime has been getting caught twice in quick succession. As I said on another post, its because Russian athletes are being targeted for increased testing at the moment for political reasons

Logic would dictate him and his brother was on something pro's as well. At one point in time you could take various PEDs as long as it was to a certain degree. Somethings aren't illegal at first and then become illegal later. Some people are just smart enough not get caught.

So Vitali is a cheater himself who hand picked his opponents and retired.

If only that were true. Most of his fans will be Russian and they'll likely see the failed test as another political move from the west to undermine Russia. So I'm sure as long as he keeps winning fans will still pay and show up for his fights and believe he is a wronged man and clean. Hell if he plays the victim card he might become even more popular in Russia than he already is.

And let's be real this is boxing, doping in general gets ignored. Teper fails a test is banned, fights again while banned. Countless fighters given pathetic 3-6 month bans is a sport where fighters often only fight every 3-6 months and then of course the whole Mayweather TUE debacle. I'm sure if or when Floyd comes back he'll make millions despite being under a cloud of suspicion for doping.

    What mister Bomber said above.

Problem is that most fans tend to "forget" or even outright deny their favorite's drug past.
How many times you see fans condemn one fighter and then in the next post praise another who did the same thing or even worse?! Also the comparisons to mythical creatures like prime RJJ and prime Holyfield are constantly made by fans while knowing damn well they weren't actually natural.

Povetkin lost my support, even if he somehow gets cleared from this, because he lost the reasonable doubt option for me.

Its proven as a political move. I can give you the athletics example.

Russian and Chinese were 20 times more likely in the run up to the olympics to be tested than athletes from any other country. You have Jamaican 100 metres sprinters juiced up to the eyeballs (running times no clean athlete alive has ever run whilst jogging over the finish line) who are only tested at the same rate as any other nation. Its not increased testing based on increased suspicion it is done for political reasons. In the 100 metres example, how many of the world record breakers from 9.83 seconds downwards have never failed a test? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Men's_100_metres_world_record_progression

If you factor in the increased testing of Russian and Chinese athletes you could make an argument that they are not any more cheats than the athletes of other nations. They are just being targeted for political reasons because they refuse to go along with the globalist cabal- that wants to create a socialist global government run from the USA.

When you test athletes more, you are more likely to find them on something.

    Makes perfect sense.

Exactly, just like Floyd Mayweather who was smart enough to use illegal IVs to flush his system one day before the Pacquiao fight and just like Andre Ward who was smart enough to work with Victor Conte, a PED supplier who did time in jail for distributing steroids.

Good observation. We're in a climate of a 2nd cold war. Povetkin will be supported by the Kremlin and assorted rich oligarchs against the 'evil western propagandists'. Most likely Povetkin will not be able to get into title contention again; but at the very least he will still be headlining big cards in Moscow and make millions in the process.

I was very high on Povetkin, but this second drug bust has made me a lot less so. I still like his style and skills, but everytime he wins there's going to be the question "wonder what he's on this time?" I'm disappointed with Sasha.

Prescribed to speed the torn muscle/ligament in his knee.
Asked his Amatuer coaches/trainers/medical team if he should withdraw from competition, and they told him the usage was temporary and wouldnt be in his system when testing began.
There plan was all along to bring Wladimir up without making him fight Vitali.
It was a blackball job IMO.
