    Now focusing 100% on politics.

Admirable. Vitali has a lot of money, his health and a family. He forfeits his leisure life, and exposes his own family to the yoke of Putin and his cronies for his country.

    Boxing has its next hero.

Vitali's next fight is not going to be easy. He fights for human rights, equality, and political transparency. If he's successful, there could be a domino effect.

Wlad is good for another few years. Two predictions.

1 ) His successor is likely going to be another Eastern European man. Perhaps Usyk in 2016-2017. Medzhidov or Dycko look good enough to win a belt if they turn professional as well.

2 ) If your still posting here, you will complain about the division, partly because you don't care much for the ethnicity of the guy on top.

Vitali has reached an accomodation with Jose Sulamain , that now means he is called "Champion In Emeritus",which in effect means that should he reconsider, he can come back later, and walk straight into a title shot.

Its called ,"having your cake and eating it".
What nationality the next champ is is immaterial, let us just hope he is more entertaining than the Klits who have bored us rigid for far too long.

He won't come back for the simple reason there will not likely be a walk over like Sam Peter holding the belt if he does.
    He's done.
If he went out as an active , defending champ he'd derserve respect but he blew it cherry picking non rankers and making excuses his hand was sore so he wouldn't have to fight a competative fight.
Without all this pressure put on him he would never of made a decision and carried on holding it hostage.
    Good ridiance.

We know you hate him Dino. There will be a new WBC champion soon.

If Vitali wants to come back in 2015, he can.

As an older fighter Vitali was rather active and fought quite a few ring magazine top ten opponents, some of which are still in the top ten! See Adamek, Solis, and Arreola, whom Vitail stopped. None Vitali's fights from Peter to present were competitive, because even at an older age, Vitali was a force.

Those are the facts. Its not Vitali's fault Haye backed out of a match to meet him. Would have liked to see that one.

I can only imagine how good he would have been had he not lost those 4 years. He was ahead in every fight and only injuries caused him to lose. He gained big self confidence in the Lewis fight and I would have liked to see a rematch which I personally think he would have won.

He did not have the one punch power of his brother but he was tougher, meaner, and stronger. I did not say who was better but both were excellent in different ways and both have to be rated in the top 5 big men of all-times along with Lewis, Wlad,Vitali,Bowe but for me Bowe is last

 no. He's done great things, and may do more, but in the end he's not ever going to get what it is you want for him (the above).

He immediately moves to #6 and Dempsey falls off the ass end of the top 10.

He would be foolish to come back he is over 40, has not fought for over a year and has no one in front of him that would prove anything for his legacy. There comes a time when the smartest decision is to retire at the right time and it is never easy to know, guys like Joe Calzage, Rocky Marciano,Lennox Lewis,Gene Tunney retired at the right time to suit their life and situation. If Vitali becomes President (which will be hard because of the outside opposition & power) how could he consider going back in the ring. I think he should retire and give his brother the chance to clean up what becomes of the WBC bogus title. From a quick look at there ratings it looks like a box off between

    Stiverne,Arreola,Wilder,Jennings,Perez,Fury,Adamak,Chisora & maybe 2 others

the winner becomes WBC Champ & has the chance to fight the real champ & unify vs Vladimir K

This is all a matter of how they match these guys as to who becomes WBC champ

Stiverne is apparently locked out of action over legal issues with King.

WBC will likely order Wilder vs Arreola. Then there's the problem of the WBC trying to enforce a "non-unification" rule, it may not be concrete, but whoever gets the belt could likely use that as an excuse to sit on it and make money fighting their mandatories.

It's always good to see a fighter go out at the top. He's definitely the best heavyweight since Lennox Lewis. Good luck to him in his political career.
