Vitali Klitschko says he's not going to fight David Haye

Vitali is no fool:

He knows that, due to Haye's excellent speed and athleticism, Haye is very hard to intentionally thumb. Plus, Haye doesn't bleed easily.

Unlike with Charr, Vitali would have to win by actually fighting. With so much on the line politically, why take the chance?

Well I've always criticized Lewis for sitting on his belt and holding it hostage for a year after his last fight. Then announcing his retirement one day before the WBC threatened to strip him.

Hope Vitali doesn't go down the same path.

 

I agree to! HAye should have fight Vitali two years ago!
It would be very very risky to fight Haye right now. He is 41 now will be 42 soon. I cant blame him when he does not feel he cant win against HAye. But then he should stop boxing. He cant fight another fighter like Charr (who is good but cant be compared with Haye)

 

Yes, this is the other main point.

If he is smart enough to not face Haye, then he absolutely should retire. His legacy is decent, and he's certainly got enough money in the bank. Time to be a politician. Lord knows, the Ukraine desperately needs his influence.

I don't understand why Vitali and David thinks this is some big fight everyone wants to see. Vitali is old as hell and Haye wants to pick his fights.

 

Someone needs to post that pic of Vitali & Haye with:

"PROMISES TO FIGHT HAYE, RETIRES."

 

Vitali is 41, ridden with injuries, busy with politics, unmotivated and has been talking about retirement since a year ago. More ripe for the picking than Lennox Lewis ever was when they fought. It'd be great if Vitali still beats Haye despite all the negative odds against him, (ooh, how we would mock you brittards) but If he wants to retire, i'll be okay with that. He owes nothing to that glass toed wuss Haye.

 

The issue is he is likely to milk another lame fight payday out of it against charr or fat chris

I would have thought that Vitali would want to know who wins Arreola/Stiverne first before making a call to retire. He would want to avoid a scenario where the WBC title is going to get locked up in BS ... making it hard to Wlad to get at it.

He wants to fight Vitali. Everyone says he needs to fight a contender. He signs to fight Chisora. Everyone says he ducked Vitali.

pretty sure there is zero chance of him fighting Arreola again if he wins it will be retirement or someone else and people on here will claim he is 'ducking' a guy he won every second of every round against and made quit and cry. :roflatsch
