he offered his no.2 ranking just to get a fight, yet nobody would take the risk. they all wanted as easy an avenue to the top as possible. as i said, too many contenders lack balls.
You can willingly remove from the list Povetkin, Dimitrenko and Fury.. They do not want to deal with Klitschko's
The poster is correct. Meehan, though he doesn't deserve a title shot, would be a more interesting challenger than these cruisers. He can punch and is big. But losing to Chagaev last year was pretty bad, so it's hard to picture him lasting long with the K brothers.
he was inactive for 2 years vs chagaev, and he didn't warm up until round 8. ruslan commented on how kali's power surprised him. kali's accuracy was way off for much of the fight, but with some fights now under his belt, although still not alot, his power would make him a much more dangerous opponent for vitali than most others.
If he can't get Haye or Valeuv, he should fight a couple of guys his size: Grant, Wach, Helenius, Ustinov.
meehan is 6ft5 ffs. compared to most contenders, he is well and truly tall enough. its the 5ft11, 6ft0, fighters who r up against it.
I actually agree that it would be a fun fight, I just don't see it happening because Meehan is not bringing a lot to the table. But I's watch.
i know exactly what u mean, but when i looked at the other contenders, i thought they had nothing to say a fight with them would be better. no meehan is no star, but he has a name from a while ago. the other younger ones r barely known at all. that's why someone like holyfield keeps being mentioned as a possible opponent for many fighters even at 47yo, cause boystov and co. simply have very little following, and many boxing fans know little about them. how do u then expect casual fans to know about them? just look at mermeck. he is 5ft11, and cannot ko wlad. how on earth can he possibly win? wlad would have to suffer serious injury during the fight to lose imo. at least with a massive puncher like kali meehan, u will be thinking he just might land a flush shot that can put a klit to sleep.
Why are people so obsessed with seeing Vitali "fight someone his own size"? :huh Size has nothing to do with anything.
A) No one is obsessed. B) Vitaly is very good at using his size, and it would be a fun to see him in a few where it is not an option.
liked Meehan since he got jobbed vs Brewster but he got destroyed by chagaev rather see Dimitrenko or one of the many other European heavyweights
You mean James Toney bitched out of a 1.5 mil payday against either brother to pursue more lucrative fights in Peter and Couture? Get real.
rubbish!! most others have admitted they don't want to face a klit. they wanna wait till they retire, then step up.
