Former WBC heavyweight champion and current WBC Champion Emeritus Vitali Klitschko is still chomping at the bit to regain the WBC world belt. Here is what Vitali had to say to Fightnews about his comeback, Samuel Peter's recent scare against Jameel McCline, and Oleg Maskaev are more during the 45th annual WBC convention in Manila, Philippines at the luxurious Manila Hotel.

You said at this time last year in Dubrovnik, Croatia (Sight of the 44th WBC convention) that you weren't going to come back. After more consideration, you decided to return. Following a lot of turmoil between you, Maskaev and Peter, you decided on a comeback fight with Jameel McCline, only to get injured again. Do you still want to fight again?

After your fight with McCline was called off, and the Mandatory defense by Maskaev against Peter was called off due to Maskaev's injury, McCline and Peter squared off. Were you surprised by McCline's near upset of Peter?

Given the near collapse of Peter against McCline, what is your view of the outcome of Maskaev – Peter in February?

This goes back to your amateur loss to him, doesn't it?

So will you take an interim fight and look for the winner or will you wait to face the winner of their rescheduled February 2nd match?

I am skeptical about whether we will ever see Vitali in the ring again. I think it is only this dream of holding a title with his brother that keeps him going. After he gets it he'll be long gone.

Vitali will return & bKO either Maskaev or Peter, whichever is unlucky enough to have won their fight!

If Vitali is 80 percent, he knocks out Maskaev and Peter.

I don´t fancy Vitali´s chances of staying injury free

I hope Povetkin can plug the holes in his style and get rid of these Klitschkos. Having two or more beltholders pretending to be champions is a disgrace to the sport of boxing. At the moment it doesn't appear that either Peter or Maskaev have much chance of getting the job done.

    :good

It does seem as if Vitali has gotten a bit testy about Maskaev's claim that he KOed Vitali years ago.

I think Maskaev Klitschko would be a mega-fight in Europe, and I see Vitali steemrolling Oleg. In fact, I see him steemrolling either a tuneup like McCline, Greenberg, or whomever............or Maskaev or Peter.

VK would probably KO any one of them. This guy is one big, fast handed, hard punching, iron chinned, disciplined fighter. If he gets himself back to where he was, or even 80% to where he was, he'll beat everyone they put in front of him.

I somewhat might agree to that.
