I said 4 or 5, I'm not sure of the exact number. Maybe you can clarify for me. Even if it's 3, (and I'm sure it's at least 4) - I'm overstating by ONE. Wow. Hardly extreme.

My point is this. If he hasn't been able to get fit for THREE years, what's changed now? How will he suddenly shake these injuries off, now that he's 3 years older? Its not like he's in his 20's and can recover easily from long term injuries. He's getting well into his thirties now.

You bang on about it only being 2 injuries. Well, if that's the case, he would only have pulled out of 2 fights, yes?

Even if it is 2, so what? One is obviously one that reoccurs, that's why he's fit, then injured, then fit, then injured etc.

2 severe, reoccuring injuries will have an impact on anyone.

Yeah, and I've read on plenty of websites that Toney will be fit for his next fight, and Tyson is rededicated again.

    Dominant, once again.

WTF?? TWO wins in title fights - one against a 38(?) yr old semi-retired fighter that was a contender at best when serious, and one win against Danny "Legend Killer" Williamsn.

Oh yeah, that's a mother****ing dominant reign right there.

**** Tysons undisputed reign. **** Lewis being at the top for the best part of a decade. Joe Louis. Who?

Oh yeah, one belt, Two fights, no mandatory defences. That's dominance alright.

Hey Heavy, you know as well as I do that the haters are gonna hate, no matter what we say to them and no matter who either of the Klitschko brothers beat.

    It. wont. matter.

That's the part that really, really bugs me. It's as though Vitali thinks he has this right to do that to other professional fighters.

I think Vitali and/or his promotional company should have to sign good faith agreements with any fighters he agrees to fight, saying they get paid regardless of whether or not Vitali gets through training camp.

Sparring partners, trainers, accomodation etc - all of those expenses have to be met. And Vitali pulling out leaves that coming out of who's pocket??

Now, I may be coming off as a Vitali hatter. But I'm not. I'd like to see him fight again, but be realistic. He can't get through a full training camp.

After pulling out of so many consecutive fights, and hearing the same "I'm fit again" statements before EVERY one of them, how can anyone not take any statements of Vitali's fitness with a pinch of salt?

Ever heard of an injury healing? I don't think any injuries are merely shaken off. But this healing thing you need to read up on, as its a pretty beneficial concept.

No injury has reoccured, no. He had the knee repaired, and no further problems out of it. Now the disc surgery has apparently healed as well. Two injuries during this three year down time, both have been surgically repaired, period.

I guess you made up the reoccurring injuries thing, as you did the exaggerated amount of times you said he pulled out of the Rahman fight. :-(

I agree, I dont mind Vitali coming back its just when he does make a comback attempt he seems to **** over boxing fans and the fighters he is suppose to fight. The WBC title is starting to become more of a joke than the WBO anymore, and part of the reason is Vitali backing out of fights for the past 3 years.

    Educate me then.

Exactly how many times did Vitaly pull out of the Rahman fight.

Try and give me a number. Emoticons don't make up for lack of facts.

There's no way you can say that with any authority. You dont know any more than anyone else what he'll be like.

I'm willing to be that after he comes back and starts dominating again, it'll be like he never left.

The whole little back and forth childish nonsense about Vitali falling apart and all the other 12 year old things that you guys say back and forth is alot like the whole China Chin Wlad thing; rediclously unsubstantiated.

The nonsense about Vitali being overwhelmed with injuries seems to gain a couple of injuries with every telling, and by the time its spread back and forth for the umpteenth time, its so blown out of proportion and exaggerated that even some of you doubt how accurate it is.

He tore his knee tendon while in the final weeks of the Rahman fight...............and he recently herniated a disc, which is not a sign of a fragile body, but is merely an unfortunate accident that ANYone can have happen to them.

But to hear it told on this site, Vitali is covered in so many surgical scars that he must resemble Boris Karloff. Rediculous. TWO injuries is somehow pumped up into half a dozen, if not more. I forget how many he's supposed to have, now, cause the childish nonsense gets so out of hand, its not worth reading.

    From this http://www.hbo.com/boxing/events/2006/0812_rahman_maskaev/columns/gottlieb_profile.html

    Article...

    FOUR times.

    And my original post...

So the president of WBC said FOUR. I said FOUR or FIVE. I couldn't remember exactly.

SO, in fact, I didn't exaggerate at all. I was exactly right.

You can apologise any time you like.

The article I listed has all 4 dates listed he pulled out of if you really are bothered by it.

So now we are making up ficticious fights that were never even talked about, much less scheduled.

The final weeks of which fight?

    The April 30 one?
    The June 18 one?
    The July 23 one?
    The Nov 12 one?

    Please clarify.

I don't care how many injuries he has had. It could be one for all I care.

The relevant point is, and hasn't changed.

Vitaly has had to pull out of the last FIVE fights he's been due to have because of injury.

You are aware that Vitalis supposed invoking of the emeritus clause affects the current champions ability to arrange fights?

And Maskaev right now is that guy?

Maskeav has been unable to arrange a fight with Peter because of Vitali lurking around the scene, POSSIBLY to fight for the belt, possibly not.
