Vitali Klitschko- The greatest heavyweight in history?

I don't have much to contribute. The article is spot on.

 

The amazing Doctor Klitschkos are the clearly the greatest heavyweights of all time, but the blacks on here hate them for obvious reasons, and so does they crowd that runs the US media for similar reasons. Not since Babe Ruth ruled over American baseball in the 1920's has any athlete, or athletes, so dominated their sport.

Not only are boxers bigger and better and stronger today - as in most sports where objective old records are contstantly broken - but they rule over a sport that is far more truly international than it was before when Russians and eastern Europeans and black Africans and Cubans (still only expat's in the last case) were not allowed or able to commpete - and they take on all comers, many previously undefeated, from all over the world, and they have become so great that they do so winning virtually every round, and usually not even getting their hair mussed in the process.

 

Quitali was the #1 heavy for like a year. His resume is **** poor and he has lost to the best two fighters he ever faced.

"Quitali". He lost both times only because of injuries, ******. He had won every round against Lewis. I wouldn't be surprised if Lewis' gloves were fixed for that fight, or at the very least he deliberately rubbed his eyes with the lacing. Vitali had never even been cut at all before that fight, neither in kickboxing nor in boxing. "His resume is **** poor". Yeah, right. He only has the highest KO percentage in history, that's all.

 

Correct. Rubbing the laces at the very minumum, maybe even worse. Who inspects gloves these days? The ref doesn't. Even if gloves are inspected in the dressing room - and are they always? Like in that fight? - what's to prevent someone from slipping a tiny bit of something sharp into the laces between the dressing room and the ring. It's not like boxing is an up and up sport with only honest characters participating, standing there in the shadows, running the thing from behind the scenes, or not so behind the scenes. Lennox Lewis had a number of suspicious fights.

 

In Klitland maybe. Not in the real world.

Trust me, when the brothers finally retire from boxing, you'll all want them back. I think they're great personalities and great in ring tacticians..

Once they are gone you're all gonna see the belts being tossed around like a rag doll between guys like Helenius, Pulev etc...At least when they are around we know 100% whos the BEST. Helenius will prolly get a belt after they retire, and then he will lose it to lets say, Chambers, than Chambers will lose it to Pulev than Pulev will lose it to whoever...Thats whats gonna happen when the brothers finally call it a day. This isn't the UFC where the HW championship is changed like once or twice a year or so...but when they reire, its gonna look like a UFC show.

 

Dramatically overrstated.

His resume is not "**** poor." He has had about 15 fights with titlists, former titlists and ranked contenders. True, he has not yet had a great, eye-catching name on the resume, but he is still an active fighter, and could realistically fight on another five years.

I will not laundry list his unique acheivements- its been done a million times. But in light of the number of quality opponents he has had, they are real records.

As for his losses, I agree with you that he lost to the two best, and I agree they were legit losses. They were also reasonable due to the circumstances.

Vitaly is not (yet) a top ten fighter, but he is a great of sorts, and climbing.

yeah that person is a real ****ing clueless piece of ****. realistically Vitali doesn't make the top 20 based on resume or head to head. people need to get their facts straight
