You are absolutely full of it,the fight should have been stopped before it actually was.

You even managed to get those two the wrong way round, well done, idiot.

Let me make it simple for you, due to the fact you are a simpleton, then you can explain it to the other idiot Auntie Bug.

Lewis was scheduled to fight Johnson in June 2003, with Vitali on the undercard. Johnson pulled out injured, so Lewis fought Vitali instead, and won. Have you got that part?

Try using any common sense you might have left, and ask yourself why if Lewis was serious about carrying on fighting he would have stood by while the loser fought Johnson in December 2003.

I fully understand you are an idiot, but even you couldn't be moronic enough to claim Lewis was running scared of Kirk Johnson, surely to fuk?

Wrong again Mendozy, unless you think people are seriously going to take the word of agenda driven fools on internet boards over official versions of events.

    Above your garbage.

    Below, actual version of events.

Do you know the meaning of the word rumoured Mendozy? In more than 90% of cases it is what newspapers do Mendozy. They start rumours, and not just in Britain, all over the world.

15 is very kind, more like edging into top 40.

but I also think tysons resume is fringe 10 at best because of his poor longevity. I assume you are talking about the greatest ones ever at HW.

Louis, Ali, Holyfield are the only guys I'd put above Tyson in terms of resume. Oh and Lewis too, although the gap between Lewis resume and Tysons isn't as big as people make out.

    Foreman and Wladmir are debatable.

Tysons resume is stronger than Marcianos, Holmes, Bowes, Vitalis, Dempseys and Listons in my opinion.

And if they lose again, you have to fight the other brother. Dont forget that stipulation!

Tysons overall resume is underwhelming but his reign as champion was terrifying. So many back to back fights againt the best guys around. Nearly every defense was quality.

Lewis was ready. He had a full camp and was scheduled for Kirk Johnson.

Now for the question, can you name a heavyweight in the past 50 years who was more avoided? And when I say avoided its a fighter saying I'll take the re-match with 18+ million there for him, or others pulling out of deal as Haye or Valuev did.

No I did not start this thread because off you. And my points on those who ducked Vitali is post Lewis. Think about what your saying and please keep Lennox excuses out. He said re - match multiple times, not just in the heat of the moment after the crowd felt he lost the fight on action and rounds scored .

    Foxy,

You have no clue. Once again you had zero impact on me creating this thread, and my points were post Lewis, not pre-lewis as you wrote.

Bottom Line: Lewis said he would take the re-match multiple times, and was talking like an active fighter. When forced with a choice he balked. If you believe his lame excuse that a woman prevented this match your delusional. Another interpretation is Vitali Retired Lewis> it is a fact that Lewis tried to make other fights post Vitali. I guess his woman wasn't against those fights :)

A glorified Tim Witherspoon? Are you saying Holmes avoided Witherpoon for a re-match? If so, your mostly correct but Lewis said he'd take it was was offered big time bucks. Holmes to my knowledge never said he'd re-match Witherpoon, and if he did the money wasn't close to what Lewis was offered.

You're always wrong Dino.. Valuev was offered 2.5 million. Simply sated the giant didn't want to get badly beaten.

“Klitschko is right, Valuev is a chicken,” said Yuzhakov, 28, who was born in Moscow and currently resides in Somerville. “For a Russian man to turn down $2.5 million a lot of fear must have been involved. Maybe he’s waiting for a more opportune time to fight Klitschko. No matter, he will never beat the true ex-Soviet beast.”

Well I know that Valuev sparred Sanders, who schooled him, so maybe Valuev looked at Vitali and what he did to Sanders and decided it wouldn't be worth the pain. Just speculating here - I don't know if that timeline fits actual events.

Correct Valuev was too slow and not skilled enough on offense or defense. He's take way too many punches in this one. Sometimes being durable with a good chin as Valuev have is a terrible thing when matched vs a much better boxer-puncher type who gives his man no quarter.

Valuev pulled out. 2.5M was the offer I posted.

I was alluding to the fact that they both beat comparable opposition and both lost in their biggest fights. Vitali is a little better than spoon but that's the general idea.
