Bruno was in his prime and better than Morrison. So was Ruddock. And Mercer. And Briggs. And Golota. And Vitali.

And Morrison is significantly better than any of Vitali's opponents too.

Bruno who started his career in the early 80's was in his prime?Really..:patschRuddock who had two brutal fights with Tyson and started in 1980 was also in his prime?:patsch..Mercer yea but Morrison was coming off a win with Foreman. I would also question who has the better resume.Morrison was on a Sanders level,i would say Lewis fought better overall guys but H2h we saw what would happen, see resumes mean little in h2h matches.

that's right, yeah as in true.

kliturds make themselves a laughing stock even more each year by denying prime vits got spanked. what motivates you to keep the denial up for so long, out of interest? no one else seems to deny losses for so long.

Lennox Lewis despite being on the ass end of his career overcame and defeated Vitali Klitscko. And Vitali throwing a tantrum at the doctor's decision to stop the fight doesn't make that result any less valid. The cut up face that he was left with is now one of the most widely viewed images on google. Who really Gives a flying fck what Lewis's reasons were for retiring, even if one of those reasons was fear for his life after seeing Vitali dismantle a 260 lbs beached whale of a Nova Scotian named Kirk Johnson ?? He was long past his prime, well ripe for the picking and defeated a supposed invincible monster in his prime ( the same invincible monster who quit against rapid fire Byrd and struggled mightily against a shot sanders.) Imagine what the result would have been had Lewis been 5 years younger, 15 lbs lighter and in the midst of an active streak rather than only having fought once in two years as was the case against klitschko??. I envision the great "Dr. Iron Fist" looking about as impressive as Golata, grant and Briggs did against Lennox in the 90's.. Lewis refusing Vitali a rematch does nothing to taint his legacy.... Nothing whatsoever... It's time for people to get a life and put this beaten to sh!t topic to bed...

You really are bad with time lines not for nothing!:good

Lewis at 15 pounds lighter?well then why did he purposely put on the extra size for Vitali if that's the case of him being more effective at a lighter weight? What does your entire post have to do with Vitali being avoided? Why did you skip the Tommy Morrison topic? Lewis at 5 years younger went the distance with Mavrovic who literally fought 27 nobodies and was below Axel Shultz level...:hey

Spot on. Haters will hate, but part of VK's overstated "resume" problem is the unwillingness of contenders to face him. Haye was well known to have preferred to face Wlad over Vitali. So were most of their mutual era's hw's. Valuev had probably the most egregious "duck" in history, VK offered Valuev by far the biggest purse of his career, even though he'd already lost his belt, but Valuev refused to fight him, leading to VK'd worst defense, a stay busy fight against Sosnowski. Most of the era's top fighters preferred to face Wlad over Vitali, leading to a bit of an imbalance. To be fair, Vitali should have met them halfway in price, paying them more than market rate in order to fight more top HW's. That said, as often as people say Wlad rarely loses a round, he usually would give up a couple per fight. Vitali probably set a record for fewest rounds lost of any belt holder in history, for any division.

He also fought the worst opposition of any supposed ATG.

Most of the fighters of the era fought Wlad because he was the true champ.

Vitali then was like what Wilder is today, just a belt holder.

The general consensus is, is that Wladmir is the champ and has been for the past decade.

Of course your not going to lose rounds especially when your feasting on the likes of Vaughan Bean, Ross Purrity, Orlin Norris, Larry Donald and Danny Williams.

Oh and I forgot, Julius Francis.

No. VK's comp hasn't stood the test of time as much as could have been expected, considering Arreola and Solis hype, and to a lesser extent, Chisora and Kevin Johnson. But its still much better than other HW's considered top 20 such as Patterson, Liston, Dempsey, Jeffries, etc. (And unlike them, he didn't lose to his comp while champ or returning champ)

Excellent well reasoned post which sums up the whole debate and is based on the reality of what actually happened.
