    I'm American, and I don't know anyone who ISN"T a Klit fan.

Their only problem here is that they don't get enough publicity. But, they are educated, gentlemen athletes, who are accomplished and the best in the world.

Really? Most people I talk to have never heard of them.

Everyone who follows boxing has heard of them. :patsch

The problem I am talking about is that since boxing is losing ground to MMA here, and since there are alphabet belts, etc.. casual fans can't keep up.

Those casual fans may have heard of the Klits in passing, but may not know them individually.

Boxing is becoming a fringe sport here, sadly.

He shouldnt have made his announcement, it gives david haye particularly, leverage because he just stated his goal is to fight him by the end of the year to get his belt.

That is like walking into a car sales lot and telling them exactly which car you want and that you need it ASAP. You wont get a good negotiation deal if they know youre desperate.

I want to see Vitali fight Valuev and Haye this year and retire. But both have a history of ducking Vitali and now that he said 2010 is his last year they may just say **** it and avoid him all year and by 2011 no one will be on their back for not fighting vitali.

Vitali had one impressive comeback. 1,400 days off steps in the ring and whups the **** out of Peter making him quit on his stool without injury forcing him to do so.

Toys with Juan Carlos Gomez until he beats him down so bad that JCG turns his back on him in the ring after getting up off the canvas.

Tortures 26 year old Arreola forcing him to quit on his stool (hold me back! hold me back I wanna fight! yeah sure that was all about saving face he fckin quit on his stool and cried like boy who was spanked)

Took every rnd from undefeated Kevin Johnson who was reduced to fighting like Curly from the Three Stooges.

Having never been knocked down or behind on scorecards including his only two losses which came from legitimate injuries.

Now he wants to beat the **** out of Haye and call it a day.
    Hat's off to Vital! :bbb

It's a good idea for him to retire. He hasn't looked the same, and he has nothing to prove that would really up his legacy. Vitali is what he is at this point... a great head to head boxer that matches up well against the ATG throughout history in a H2H manner.... who won't make many ATG lists due to his lack of accomplishments as his prime was cut down due to injuries.

At least with Vitali out of the picture, Wladimir has a chance to improve on his already impressive legacy.

And of course Vitali has the highest KO % in the history of boxing....which is very impressive.

    Picture this hypothetical scenario,

Haye and Vitali fight at the end of the year, Hayes doing well and the fight gets stopped on cuts, say around the 6th round, Vitali TKO.

Haye then starts shouting about it to anyone who will listen and calling out Vitali for a rematch.
Vitali has nothing left to offer/prove to the sport/fans and stays retired.

What would you Klitschko fans say?:deal

Not really, the other trainers and most of the young pros at our gym had no idea who they were or had heard of them but had never seen them fight. I had never heard of them until I started posting here and I have been a fan of boxing for over 50 years.

Yes, I think he's hoping to stay active with Valuev, then a mega showdown with Haye before bowing out on top.

But I think Haye will be too hard to get a fight with. And with King involved, we may not even see Vitali get to stay active with Valuev.

:blood If he can't get either one of these, much less both, I think he may retire now. As the pickings are pretty slim, aside from Haye and Valuev.

But then again, I read that Vitali's last fight with Johnson was a big success for HBO. He may fight a couple more times, even if he can't get Valuev and, or Haye in the ring.
