Sometimes 110% fans tend to loose clear sight for the truth. Fritz Sdunek is one of the best trainers worldwide.

Sdunek is not close the Steward. If Manny was in the corner, he tells Wlad to SLOW DOWN, and not PUNCH HIMSELF out vs Purrity. Its a cornerman's job to know his fighter. Sdunek did not.

Sdunek's corner work and advise vs Sanders was garbage. He didn't splash water on Wlad's face to wake him up, and his advice between rounds was comical. Somthing like, Boy watch out.

Sundek didn't even know how to use enswell until the 00's.

Stewart develepted Wlad's defense, pacing and clinching skills.

While the fighter wins and losses, a good cornerman can giude a fighter to victory, and that is something that is lacking in Sdunek.

 Comical indeed but mostly on your part. What do you know about what Sdunek told him against Purrity? Did you even see the fight? And if so, did you understand what Sdunek said to him in between rounds? Then you must have been there personally because in the you cannot understand the cornertalk from the tapes because there were no microphones. And Wlad looked totally fine and in control until he suddenly hit the wall. If you hold that against Sdunek why don't you bash Steward for letting Wlad punch himself out in FOUR ****ing rounds against Brewster? That's brilliant cornerwork, isn't it?

This is not training. That was at Hamburg before the Thompson fight. Warm up just before the fight.

And lost the WBO title with Sdunek, Wladimir lost 3 times with Sdunek.

Sdunek never had the experience of Steward. He changes the style from Wladimir, a boxer who win olmpic gold, he changes him into a "stand boxer".

Look at the first fights of WK, he moves very well and Zolotarew was his coach.

Wladimir and Vitali are Ukrainians, and Sdunek works for Universum Boxpromotion, they had nothing to do with this promoter so i cannot understand why Vitali stay with Sdunek.

    @ NBT
I saw the Puritty fight, and Sdunek never told Wlad in this fight to pace himself. And Brewster 1. Sdunek was the Athletic Coach, not Steward. And Wlad was tired after 4 rounds. In the second fight Wlad throws as many punches as in the first one.

In my eyes Sdunek isn´t a good coach. And he is not in the same liga as Emanuel Steward.

    Apart from Klitschko,

Which real Champion did Sdunek make? Which great fights?

I mean Champions not beltholders. Champions like Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, Hearns, Hagler .....

Before the round that Wlad got KO´d against Brewster, Stewart was telling Wlad that Brewster was finished and he needed to KO him. Wlad looked like dead tired at that time. Manny´s advice in the corner is crap. But his corner also completely panicked against Sanders, it was painfull to watch.

In the Brewster fight 1 Manny knows that Wlad was tired and he said "it is the last round". He should try to knock Brewster out, because he was so tired. It was Wlad´s only chance he could not recover. But this fight was .....

But Sdunek was the Athletic Coach!!!!!!!

They hoped that Steward will leave WK after this loss. But Steward stay and that´s show how great this man is and how good he is for Wladimir.

Sdunek has forced upon WK a style which he did not want to box. WK has always tried to work with American coaches, like Tommy Brooks, Don Turner, Freddy Roach. But Kohl and Sdunek did not want this and they make this coaches go. Maybe Vitali did´nt it want too. But a Boxer is a free human beeing and can chosen his own coach. In die USA it is nothing to talk about. Boxers and Champions changes coaches in his career to learn something else or worked on special things, like defense.

But Steward did not go and made Wlad a more complete fighter which is improtant when you will box against after Top Fighters.

reid apparently knocked vitali out with a head kick. don't know if it's confirmed but even if it is, it's no shame going down from a head kick. a clear head kick from a hw is a 100% ko.

I repeat. 1. How do you know what he said to Wlad? 2. There didn't seem to be any need to tell Wlad to pace himself because he looked totally fine until he suddenly hit the wall.
I repeat: When Sdunek is getting stick for allegedly (many people on this board seem to have been in his corner in that night in Kiev ) not telling Wlad to pace himself, why not Steward? He was head coach in that fight and I heard nothing about pacing from him.

Of course, Wlad lost with him in his corner and since Wlad cannot possibly be responsible for losing a fight it must be Sdunek.

You can only work with what you got, he didn't have guys like Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, Hearns, Hagler. Considering this, what he has done with guys like Michalczewski, whom he trained since his amateur days until his retirement, Klitschko, Juan Carlos Gomez (when he was a cruiserweight) quite impressive.

I've read somewhere this is true, but also came across something from Vitali a while back saying it did not happen.

I thought this was settled a while ago...didn't it turn out to be a kick to the leg injuring his knee which casued him not to be able to continue?

He never had real fights as a trainer compared to the experience of Emanuel Steward. Gomez is a Cuban Boxer with great amateur boxing background, Wladimir won Olympic Gold. And Sdunek did not school him very well. His best fights as a professional for example Carlos Monroe II (Don Turner in the corner), Ray Mercer (Tommy Brooks).

The good boxing skills of Wladimir and Vitali had nothing to with Sdunek, both had a great amateur background from there old Ukrainian Trainers Zolotarew and Polischtschuk.

But to be a good professional Wladimir learned with Emanuel. He sparred more, worked on movements, footwork, learn defense, to tire a opponent up and so on. All these things you need to become a complete fighter.

Vitali only boxed against 2 world class fighters, and two time he lost. Never make any mandatory. Wladimir had learned his lesson. You cannot become a real Champion with this kind of boxing Sdunek teaches.
