Anyone saying his arms are smaller knows that is nonsense, and they are merely needing an excuse to get in a steriod reference.

His arms are as big, or bigger, than they were before. Anyone can see that.

Vitali looks a bit heavier to me than usual...but then again, I mean that only in the sense that he may be 5 pounds or so bigger. Amazing for a 5 year layoff from such a big guy. If Vitali wasn't...well, a Klitschko, you'd expect him to be about 20+ pounds heavier than he is. His neck is NOTICABLY larger to me.

That being said, I never questioned him coming in shape. The real question of this fight is the layoff. Most agree Vitali would hand Peter his ass in his prime...but this is 4 years...quite a long time. And with such regular injuries, I can't imagine Vitali will be the same fighter he was...and more importantly, I would not be surprised in the slightest if he actually gets another injury in the ring, overexerting himself with some nervous injury. Do not be shocked if that happens.

But I think the Peter fight is an interesting fight with the layoff. Peter is a good fighter when he decides to use some boxing skills. He has some great physical gifts but to me seems to have trouble with overexcitement in some cases. He's almost the classic example of a guy falling in love with his power.

 

Sam knows this, that's why he's under a lot of pressure going into this fight. Hope it doesn't affect his performance knowing that he has a lot to lose.

 

This is an excellent point, and why this fight really is a tossup. I'd be surprised if this did not play a role in the fight.

We'll likely see Vitali a bit less mobile than usual.

 

Vitali has alays been around 245 - 147 range, he will be fine even at 250, actually, at a little over 6 feet 8 inches tall, he can carry a lot more weight if he wanted to, but he does not need more weight. He loves to fight, used to fight for free! How many fighter do that? Ask Tony Tubbs about Vitali's right hand in sparring. Before the McCline fight, Vitali wanted to fight with the injury, which was healing up very quickly. Vitali's history proves that he heal up quickly, uses latest scientific info and doctors.

is vitali is 3/4 of what he was at his peak, peters in for a beating. expect peters to go the head butt route, ala lewis.
