After the cuts, unless VK managed to stop LL, sure the fight was going to be stopped soon in LL favor. It was a top HW bout.

It seems you and the moronic Fighting Weight are carrying most of the anti VK arguments. I read half of these 40 pages of posts. Suge I can tell by your prose that compared to most K bro haters, you seem to have some brains. I like LL very much and consider him maybe the best HW in history - and I think the K bros are near in ability. When you make silly statements that LL was "unmotivated" or "fat" in his fight with Vitali, it's a huge tell. If it's not race, then what is your issue w/the K bros? Nationality? Something else? I mean who are you fooling? :think

Re Peter, I'll repeat my fair view of him. He's a strong semi killed (crude) fighter. I thought he'd win vs Maskaev, but I also thought he'd destroy JT (at least in the return) and have little problem w/McCline. His stock dropped more than a bit based on his performances vs JT & McCline.

In the upcoming fight, the big question is how much will VK be affected by a long layoff at his age. A healthy VK that demolished Johnson would beat SP almost every time. In 2 weeks? Nobody knows. If VK is near what he was at his peak years ago, he can beat Peter. If not, he won't. :deal

...on the same page so far...

...in fairness I'm not anti-VITKLIT the human being. I am against his bringing the HW division to a damn near complete stop, as he's proven he's all about already. The **** he's pulled FIVE times in a row is unprecedented in the sport, and I would just as soon never see him compete again...before seeing him pull out one more time in his career. He is the antithesis of a champion.

...also Fighting Weight is far from a moron...it's ok to disagree with someone repeatedly, and still recognize their skill as a poster. I don't always agree with him either, but he has reasons he's happy to share for the positions he holds...like me.

That's a lot of reading...and thanks for some form of a compliment...

The fact that you like Lewis...doesn't mean he was in better shape than he was that night....the fact that you like Lewis doesn't change the fact that he performed eye surgery while in poor shape...and VITKLIT has admitted in the past that LL was in poor shape, so while you think this is worth arguing...respectfully, I see no grounds for debate.

I like fighters of all races and nationalities...I can't believe I'm actually being asked what the reason is that I'm not a KLIT fan...I've been quite vocal on this during my entire time at ESB. I give them their due, but I am no fan.

    Agreed.

I have never expected anybody to destroy the master boxer that is James Toney...and Sam had a very decisive victory in the rematch...the world does not begin and end with KOs...every fighter can't be easily KOd, some can't be KOd at all...James Toney belongs in one of those two categories. I see why he went down in your view vs. McCline and that is fair, the Toney rematch was as outstanding performance for Peter though.

That seems to be the consensus amongst KLIT-ites...it's not that cut and dried with me though.

VITKLIT was tough, but everybody seems to remember him as being tougher than he was...it's as if he IS his KO percentage.

Winning a vacant title and defending it one time, before repeated pullouts...is hardly something to be fearing four years later.

    Moronic?

I'd sit here picking apart the very obvious holes in your post if I could be bothered, but I can't.

Ring Rust. No getting around it. If Vitali KOs Peter, beers are on me.

I suspect if VITLAY makes it through camp he'll win the fight, to be honest. I don't know why I get so much abuse for defending Peter when I've never done it :patsch I think Peter is no better or worse than the current division, he's average. I suspect VITLAY even with 4 years ring rust will still be 'better than average' and that will be enough.

What about the Peter-ites? Peter is going to get knocked out. Vitali will again be WBC and Ring Magazine Heavyweight Champion of the World. He NEVER lost either in the Ring.

...just don't roll off the tongue the same...and that's biting, Spammy. I think you should stick with your "fab-a-stat" posting, at least it's a good laugh.

We will see what Vitklit does, the eastern leg of the KLITschkonian Empire will fall in Berlin.

...and now we are going to start getting you and Guru mixed up with your shared avatar artists...

If VitKlit wins he will be WBA and Ring Magazine Champion of the world. Rumor is he will come to the ring with both belts anyway as he NEVER lost them in the ring. Peter has no skill and is going to get his questionable Chin checked. :hi:

Vitali had Lennoxs measure drex, and Lennox was in worst trouble than Vit at the end of the 6th. All true fight professors know this, (or anyone that knows anything about boxing)! The crowd on the night knew it, and crowned Vitali 'THE PEOPLES CHAMPION', they sensed the upset, and Vitali made Lewis look old and out of shape at 37yrs old. They knew Lewis was gunna get beat in rd 7, and Vitali was their superman beating up on the Brit with one hell of an injury. That was one hell of a lucky cut that Lennox couldnt risk happening in a rematch that would have broken all box office records had it occured. Everyone wanted that fight except Lennox Lewis and his fans. Thats why it still rages on!

Not only will Obama win, but it will be a landslide. Moreover "Palin" will become a proverb = "bad choice" and "nice package no content".

According to everybody with eyes and a brain, including all 3 judges, Lennox won the 6th round. Towards the end of the round, Lennox was the only thing keeping Vitali up.

    Sorry, you fail.

I think you mean WBC. Valuev holds the WBA.

To be fair, Vitali never lost the WBC, no, but if it is perceived that Peter is not the legitimate the WBC titleholder, then Vitali was not, either..

Cause he never beat the man who legitimately held it, in Lewis.

Peter is just as legit as WBC titleholder, now, as Vitali was when he was holding it...........afterall, they both won it after it was vacated, and the holder retired, having never lost it in the ring. (Vitali and Lewis both gave it up)
