So why quote him to back up your point? :think

Vitali's chin is good, but he hasn't faced enough top contenders to make the judgement on whether it is anything outstanding.

Son, that uppercut he took from Lennox was BRUTAL. I thought Vitali's head was going to go into the 8th row or so. Lennox Lewis not a top contender? He was THE Heavyweight champion of the world. I don't care that he was 5 pounds overweight the man can punch like hell.

He has a far worse KO percentage than VITLAY, as many Klit-ites have pointed out, so chances are Lewis couldn't punch that hard. VITLAY has a B chin, nothing better.

From the impression you get from Wlad, will this be Vitali's one and only fight, or will he fight on, trying to get the last title?

No, and you've learned this same lesson from me in the past...

VITKLIT won a vacant title...he beat no champion.

Sam Peter beat an incumbent champion...VITKLIT did not.

Sam Peter may not be the lineal champ, but he is the real WBC champ, he has defeated a champion.

Drexl is the man...another foolish KLIT-ite effortlessly exposed as a liar.

When will you KLIT-ites step up, and purge these rabid huggers from your ranks...???

Lewis won by TKO round 6 so the Score-Cards don´t matter.

    I had the fight scored

    round 1 Vitali
    round 2 Vitali
    round 3 Lewis
round 4 Vitali (with goodwill as a Klitschko-Fan)
    round 5 Lewis
    round 6 Lewis

I am a Boxing Fan and i was a Fan of both Klitschko Brothers. But i lost my respect for Vitali. He did not make any mandatory because of injuries and retired from boxing in 2004. He become the Emeritus Champion. It is a title of Honour.

Now after 4 years he said "hello here i am! I want to fight the WBC Champion because i never lost my title". The WBC had him stripped of because he had to make his mandatory in 2004. He did not deserve a fight against the Champion. Okay Don King did the same with Ali to box against Larry Holmes. But these are dirty tactics and i had never believed Vitali will use them. I did respect him when he retired.

Wlad deserves his shot against Byrd. He had learned what a Heavyweigth Champion is and what this man had to do. Fighting against the best, unified. He is the real man. And Vitali had better stepped aside and let his brother unified.

Maybe VITKLIT wants to hear people say in the future, that WLAD only unified because he let him...I don't know...

It's written all over WLAD's face how much he shares their supposed "dream" though, whenever it's brought up to him.

McCline sure beat the crap out of Peter. McCline took the fight on short notice, what if McCline had been in shape?

And the uppercut hurt him. He held on for a little while afterwards.

But the uppercut is not typically a "KO" punch anyway, it's a set-up punch. How many one-punch uppercut KO's can you think of?

Besides, even if we say it was a great punch, my point stands - how can you judge Vitali's chin on one punch that he took?
I said he hasn't faced ENOUGH top contenders. I didn't say he hadn't faced ANY.

I think over his career, he's been hit by more big shots than that one uppercut Lewis caught him with.

And has yet to be taken off his feet. :good

    Like I said, apology accepted.

    :hi:

Antiquated tripe? Do you even know what "antiquated" means?

Care to explain how it applies here? :think

    Again, my point stands.

He hasn't taken flush punches from ENOUGH top contenders to make a judgement on his chin.

Hundreds of journeymen with padded records have also "yet to be taken off their feet". What matters is who they faced to get that statistic.

Just like hundreds of journeymen have a better KO% than Vitali. Until very recently, Solomoin Haumono had a 100% KO percentage fro example. But they aren't considered great because they got those KO's against nobodies.

Stats are meaningless unless you consider quality of opposition.

Vitali faced two elite fighters in his career, and lost twice. And Byrd's status as "elite" is questionable.

Don't think it's meaningless and the current champion isn't a paper champion. The division doesn't have an official #1 fighter, the #1 champion retired years ago and the belts are scattered as it normally would. If the champion is active and available then sure Peter is a paper champion but that's not the case and these guys are trying to unify to bring out the new top champion, like Lewis did in fighting Holyfield, Tyson in fighting Seldon and Bruno..etc, they weren't paper champions when they held titles neither is Peter.
