Rather than spending a half hour of my lunchtime responding to all this, I started a couple of polls which you're free to vote on.. Have a great day and good debate !!
Perhaps.. If we're banking on the exact sort of ending with a severe cut happening twice or maybe a devastating early round KO of Vitali, then maybe. But I think it more likely that we see a fight that lasts just as long or longer, but minus the struggles Lewis had in the early rounds in their actual meeting.. Unless of course the cut thing happens again in a prime matchup..
lewis punches can cut you up whether he prime or not, if you go hellfor leather kamikaze and don't defend well.
There I disagree. Vitali was clearly outboxing Lewis until the cut ruined his vision. Granted, Lewis looked like a slob that night. However, Lewis' lack of condition was not a factor in the early rounds, until the pace of the fight caught up with him. In my opinion a rematch sans cut would see even a better-conditioned Lewis crumble, albeit later on. I still think Vits could beat even a prime Lewis.
Someone posted them years ago. Vitali Byrd Sanders From what I remember. The annual rankings on boxrec aren't always annual. 2003 are from the May 2004 issue, which was printed just before the Vitali v Sanders fight.
Nobody calls me by that name, and I don't care for it in the mouth of sewage like you. Wepner was Ring ranked no 10 in1973 no 8 in1974 no 9 in1975 He fought Ali on 24th March 1975 London was Ring ranked no 1958 no 10 in1963 no 10 1965 no 10 1966 He fought Ali on 6th August 1966 . That's Wepner rated in the top ten for 3 years. London rated in the top ten for 4 years. Unlike Vitali's challengers who briefly visited for a few weeks. Now will you shut up ,you utter MORON!
Congrats, you did it! I'll call you any name I wish. Wepner and London ranked. How weak. Today neither would be in the top 20! You mock Solis, he'd easily beat these two. And you know it. Vitali would crush them, and unlike Ali would not be floored by sloppy Chuck.
How long was Solis ranked ,2 weeks! He has beaten nobody and he never will .:-( Wepner trod on Ali's foot ,that is Muhammad Ali to you, not Muhamedatsch
Pick. Who wins, Solis or Wepner? Not very hard. Let's see if you can be honest!:hi: I see you already abandoned London's name in the debate. It as a bogus title defense. London was weak.
Grant wasn't very good and Lewis held and uppercuted him to end it. Golota on that night wasn't mentally ready to be in the ring. Rhaman was better than both of those guys. The Ruddock KO was impressive, but then again who did Ruddock really beat? Morrison was badly over matched. Yes, he was, because of the pace of the fight. Lewis had no stamina issues with Tyson, and that was more rounds. Lewis did not have many tough fights. Mercer, Bruno, and Vitali is pretty much it. I'd hardly call either fight with Holyfield a battle. Lewis was too good to get hit often and too chinny to take a beating Holmes in 1985 had less than Lewis did in 2003. Did you ever hear Lewis talk about retirement? NO, he wasn't thinking of such until the WBC ordered the re-match. So in his mind he wasn't past it, and like I said he looked very good vs Rhaman and Tyson. Yes, Vitali's height and mobility played a factor, as did his jab and countering. This is why Lewis looked bad. If you look at Lewis career, good jabbers like Mercer could give him trouble. Lewis never fought man over 6'5" with these type of skills. I assure you if Lewis KO'd Kirk Johnson in four rounds that night, none of his fans would say he was shot. Most think Vitali became a better fighter post-Lewis, myself included. Odd comment as Gomez didn't and pretty much won just one round! Vitali's win over Peter and Adamek were among his best performances....way past the Lewis fight. So rather than answer my questions where you were wrong at points and debate it, you felt the need to craft your own poll taking it all out of context. You're better than that. If you want to have a correct poll, say what I said. . Yet you did not poll that. You said Comeback.
