Here's a listing in 2013 that has Solis in it, so he's spent some time in the ratings: http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/...e-vitali-klitschko-exits-heavyweight-rankings
We don't have a debate,we have you spouting agenda driven nonsense and ridiculous lies. I only mentioned Wepner because you said he knocked Ali down ,when everyone and his granny knows he was standing on his foot when he hit him in the chest and put him off balance. It was you who brought both Wepner and London's names up in an effort to big up Vitali, and it has back-fired on you spectacularly! Magoo has exposed you as a ret*rd on the other Vitali thread yet you're oblivious to it.atsch You can't read, spell, write, or formulate a coherent sentence, in the week just gone you've been exposed yet again as both a liar and a bet welcher and an illiterate cretin to boot. Yet you are blissfully unaware of how you are perceived on this forum. I have posts all the time saying you are not up to 3rd grade level ,whatever that is. How can someone be so totally lacking in self- awareness? It's astonishing ,and also plaintively pathetic.:-(
Mendoza, why r u bringing up (yet again) another boxers worst opponent in order to justify the paucity of Vitalis best opponents? this is upside down logic mate. U seem to chirping about it being a kind of great victory for you in the logical stakes.
It is quite well known that both the Violet's in Lewis's life were pressuring him to retire as early as 2001, but he was determined to fight Tyson before he retired. It is probably why he didn't train with any dedication for Rahman 1, and suffered the defeat for his arrogance. It is also thought that he only agreed to fight Johnson in June 2003 because he considered him to be very low risk for high reward, and there is no reason to believe he would definitely have gone through with the Vitali fight in December of that year as agreed, but the injury to Johnson forced the issue. The fact that you are unaware of this is of no consequence at all, so there is no base to your claim that Lewis had no intention of retiring until the WBC demanded a rematch with V.K.
I gather you don't subscribe to the notion that fighters in their mid 30's and older can often age over night.. A year of inactivity in their mid-late 30's is a lifetime in boxing..especially if you're willingness to train isn't there.
My Poll was entitled " Did Vitali improve in his 2008 comeback." You proceeded to argue on that thread that he was.. Unless you're backtracking and saying that he was improved post Lewis but BEFORE the layoff, in which case he fought three times facing a 260 lbs kirk Johnson, a 270 lbs Danny Williams and a 38 year old Sanders who was off for 13 months, out of shape and gave him a run for his money before gassing.. Either way, I don't see the improvements and none of this addresses how he'd do against a prime Lewis which incidentally WASN'T 2003.. I took nothing out of context. If there was a miscommunication then you were just as much at fault for it as I was, and the fact that you often backtrack or ignore my own points doesn't help matters either. And I've addressed your points and arguments MANY times, both this time around and in past arguments covering the very same topic. The fact that you think Rahman was a better scalp and performance for Lewis rather than men like Golata, Grant or Briggs who were more or less his equal is not something I need to debate back and forth... I'm sorry if I made a spectacle out of things ( admittedly not my usual style ) but your tendency to make accuses for Vitali in the Lewis fight while failing to make much needed concessions for Lewis has gotten irritating over the years.
This is a joke! Lewis said he'd take the re-match on air and in the press. The money was up for him. He balked. Did you know Lewis tried to make other fights post-Vitali in 2003 Roy Jones and Kirk Johnson ? Yeah, buddy both Violet's were really influencing him. Retirement was not on Lewis mind until the WBC ordered the rematch.
No worries. Do you think the below is true? Most think Vitali became a better fighter post-Lewis. I took nothing out of context. If there was a miscommunication then you were just as much at fault for it as I was, and the fact that you often backtrack or ignore my own points doesn't help matters either. I actually like you. In fact at times I've sided with you in some of your debates.. But when it comes to THIS topic....Ugh.... *** rips hair out***

For the future try to remember Solis, Arreola, and Johnson were ranked in the top ten when Vitali beat them. He lost a total zero rounds vs the three men.
Same here, you are one of the better posters for sure. I'll take it you agree, that Vitali became a better fighter post Lewis. I'll see if I can find a quote from Vitali's trainer on how much he improved as the years went on.
