I actually credit the Gonzalez win as a good one for Bowe. I can understand the criticisms about his career going to hell after that bout and how in hindsight he wasn't a very good fighter.. But that shouldn't change the perception of what or who he was at the time.. For all his shortcomings, Jorge Luis Gonzalez was a highly celebrated amateur who defeated such future notables as Biggs, Lewis and Bowe before they were all pros. He started his professional career 23-0. Granted his opposition was poor but he certainly looked menacing in dispatching those men. With all this being said, the same courtesy should be extended to Solis who was an equally or better accomplished amateur than Gonzalez and was undefeated and ranked going into his fight with Vitali.

Okay two weeks, he's been stuffed by ancient monument Tony Thompson twice , beaten nobody and at 36 isn't likely to.

He was good enough for you to have spent a significant amount of time fretting over him years after his retirement.

Gonzalez was 23-0-0 and had Renaldo Snipes as a scalp .

Solis was 17-0-0 and had who, Montell Barrett?

A shot Renaldo Snipes is no better than Barrett and Austin, who at least had a little in the tank.

see, I'm not actually saying what he IS, I am saying that the evidence the OP gave tells you what he is rather than what he isn't.

Snipes had not lost a fight in the previous 5 and a half years. Barrett had been stopped by David Haye in his last fight, and had won 3 of his last 7 fights.
    Austin was 40 years old!:patsch

    Desperate.

In all fairness, Snipes was a shadow of his former self. He admitted later all the usual stuff, couldn't pull the trigger, saw the openings but couldn't reach them...
