If 213 pounds Byrd walked Vitali down, beat him up and made him quit, imagine what 240 pounds Bowe would do to him! It would be savage, if Corrie Sanders had him hurt....
As a professional, Riddick Bowe defeated the best fighter he ever faced, that was a prime Holyfield. Bowe showed fantastic variety, he had a very good jab, good handspeed, good skills, he moved well for a big man, and could fight hard on the inside. Vitali lost to the two best fighters he faced (Byrd and Lewis), he has not shown the same kind of variety that Bowe showed. The best fighter he faced was a 38 year old past prime, overweight (254 pounds, compared to his prime fighting weight of 245), Lennox. Lennox walked Vitali down and exposed his limitations, i.e. that he has no inside game. When Lennox got inside, all Vitali could do was clinch. Vitali has not beaten anyone anywhere near as good as prime Holyfield, nor has he shown that he would be able to. Prime Bowe was so much more talented, and if they met, both are in their prime for that night, Bowe would win this fight no doubt. When Bowe fought Golota he was overweight and shot. When you compare Wlad in H2H match-ups, do you think of the Wlad of the last 2-3 years, or the Wlad who got blown out in 2 rounds by Corrie Sanders, and in 5 rounds by Lamont Brewster? As for the Calzaghe point, Joe schooled Lacy, beat Kessler and stepped up to beat Hopkins. What has Vitali done that compares to this?
Hasim Rahman stopped prime Sanders in 7 rounds. Rahman also stopped Lewis, there is a reason why Vitali ducked Rahman, and retired instead. Did you how post prime Sanders was able to hurt Vitali, and post prime Lewis stopped him?
Vitali would win this. Bowe didn't have the ring IQ to impose his own style on his opponents. It wouldn't matter if his inside fighting skills are good, Bowe didn't have the brains to take advantage of it if his opponent stayed on the outside.
Bowe would end up more ******ed than he is today. "life is like a box of chocolates!" "what who said that??""
