:nut Bowe was the undisputed heavyweight champ, he's also the only HW to win the IBF, WBC, WBA & WBO titles. He's 5-1 in title fights, his only loss was by a single point.

His manager refused to deal with Don King & the WBC who were firmly under his control. He nearly fought Lewis in '94 but he got knocked out by McCall.

Golota from the Bowe fights was incredible. I'm yet to see Vitali move and punch like AG did on those nights. Also, the punches both fighters took was just crazy. You're obviously biased but give credit where credit is due, to both men.

I think most people on these boards like Klitschko brothers, shame about their fans (same with Pacquaio).

  6. And Corrie Sanders rocked Prime Vitalli and old fat Lennox beat prime Vitali and Chris Byrd beat Prime Vitali. Golota didnt beat Bowe by the way. Bowe won those fights and he was past his prime in them anyway. Bowe is a great in fighter and out fighter and he would KO the **** out of Vitali.

Bowe just came off a win over Holyman and was only 27 years old. In the first fight we can agree that Bowe underestimated Golota and came in a little soft but in the rematch there was no excuse. Yes, Golota did lose but get real man.

He was slurring his words & showing signs of chronic brain injury before the 1st fight

I don't say he wasn't a good fighter, he had all the talent in the world, but not the will.

Even the greatest fighter ever, Ali, was pushed to the absolute limits in several of his fights, he prevailed because he also pushed himself to the limits in training+he had the absolute will to win. Bowe had neither. I personally do not think that he would have ever fuoght Lennox Lewis, he knew that he could not just cruise by Lewis with his talent and very good HW physique, so he avoided the fight.

Riddick might have lacked dedication to training but he had a lot of heart, he just wouldnt quit against Golata after taking a ridiculous beating.

Bowe & Newman offered Lewis $3m for the fight which represented a 90/10 split in Bowe's favour. Bowe had fought Holy accepting similar terms but Lewis turned down a career high payday.

They then offered Lewis a fight on the Bowe-Dokes card then Bowe next but Lewis turned that down as well & was awarded the WBC belt.

Bowe/Newman refused to deal with Lewis as long as he represented the WBC as they were paranoid about being robbed by Don King. That changed after Bowe lost to Holy in the rematch, in '94 they were due to fight but Lewis lost to McCall & again it never happened.

Bowe didnt avoid the fight, it nearly happened twice but just never worked out.

I don't even bother trying to tell people this anymore. They don't want to hear it. It's too convenient to talk about Bowe throwing his belt away to avoid Lewis....On a side note, I'd say Newman was very bad for Bowe.

"Prime Vs Prime" matchups always flatter Bowe, whose prime consisted of precisely 1 fight.

A fit, motivated, hungry Bowe sets too fast a pace for Vitali, who doesn't have the one shot power to keep Bowe off him.

Vitali has his way with any Bowe post fanman though.

Yep, pretty much. One fight where he admittedly did a great job against Holyfield, but it was still one fight and one fight wherein he looked too willing to engage and trade. Against someone with Vitali's power this can be fatal.
