Sounds to me like three out of four on this site have got good sense. At least on this subject. :good
They're all gonna look stupid. Vitlay has never beaten a fighter as good as Sam Peter, not even in his "prime"
id favor vitali 60-40 so it's far from a sure thing. but vitali has an advantage stylistically. he likes to sit back, box and counter. peter plays into this. u should take the avatar bet and support your boy. if not, i wonder if you'll take a wlad-povetkin bet. i doubt it :hi: Klitschko!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know I don't do bets so that is a lame ass copout. BTW Sam Peter TKO in less than 6 and Povetkin scores a UD over Waldo. :thumbsup
too bad. i would have loved to stick u with an avy of the klitschkos posing in their birthday suits or swordfighting in string vests my picks: Vitali tko10 Peter Wlad tko9 Povektin
The Klit nuthuggers have spoken, even after 4 years of rust, Vitali's going to come out of retirement without even a warmup fight, and blast out the number 2 guy, Sam Peter, to win back his WBC belt, i find that hard to believe. Sam Peter may not be the most skilled fighter in the division, he does however pack the most power and has best chin of the 3 belt holders. Vitali will lose in a action packed fight, which will lead to a Sam Peter knockout in the middle rounds.
it's a tough task but i gave my reasons. styles and ring intelligence. age and injuries work in peter's favor but we'll see. the peter huggers feel those will outweigh the former, i do not. 60-40 for vitali. peter has the best chin but power is debatable. natural strength > peter is the strongest man in boxing but in terms of effective power, i'll take wlad over him anyday. Peter's inconsistent technique and slower hands limit him in this department. wlad combines excellent technique, speed and raw power behind his shots making him a much more effective puncher.
Waldo is actually the better of the two, despite his chin and stamina problems. Why Vitlay gets hyped for beating a part time golfer and a british journeyman is beyond me. I mean truly how can you not say that Sam Peter is the best heavyweight Vitlay has fought since Lewis and Byrd?
well let's try and be sensible here. vitali is coming off a 4 year layoff and major ligament injuries. that's a big big concern. Wlad is a physcial specimen, never breaks down or suffered a major injury like an ACL tear. that is something very hard to come back from good news for vitali is he doesn't rely on speed as much. moreso on intelligence and power. timing might be another issue. peter is a tall order for anyone.
For those of you picking Vitali to win easily, aren't you guys underestimating the factors of ring rust and natural aging? Do you consider the possibility that his natural talents might've eroded noticeably or even considerably?
What a special night that was, I remember that April 2004 night like it was just yesterday, it was unusually warm, with a slight breeze in the air. I turned on the fight just in time to hear the HBO boxing theme song, Jones, Lampley, and Merchant were commentating that evening, which made the presentation even more special. When Wlad looked out of it in the 5th, and went down at the end of the round I knew it was over, jumped up in the air and a smile as big as Don Kings that night, during the Brewster interview I almost let a tear drop after Merchant asked him "How did you take that type of punishment and why did he stay down and you didnt"? Brewster said something like "I like to thank everyone that believed me and mostly importantly God, he didnt have the dog in him, I took 10 times more punches than he took, and look at him". Amazing night, RJJ laughing at how weak Wlad's chin was, was priceless, at one point even saying that Wlad wouldnt want to get into the ring with him becuase of how glass his chin was.
