The more that I think about it, I think I'd have to favor Wilder. Most likely outcome is probably that sooner or later Wilder uses his speed, reach and (huge) power advantages to nail Vitali while he's backing out with his hands low.

I'd expect you to pick Vitali to win because he had more title defenses and a greater career. Am I warm?

Vitali's chin is overrated and he doesn't have half the heart Fury has.
Fury would never quit against a blown up feather fisted middleweight.

Vitali looked masterful and effective against plodding come forward aggressive guys who lacked defense (Briggs, Peter, areola etc) or short zero-defense sluggers who had no business attempting to end the fight early (hide, chisora). Guys with speed or unorthodox ability puzzled him (Sanders, Byrd) and a goddamn 38 year old flabby wheezing lennox nearly tore his face off.

I think this is the real reason he didnt want to fight david haye who called him out before be retired. He had all the traits that gave vital problems and relied more on athleticism and a burst of power and angles to clip his opponents (as opposed to proper technique). Vitalis style: lean back and use his superior height and proper technique to dictate the pace and control range would be ineffective at best and useless at worst against wilder. Wilders looping long arms and frightening power would be like a swinging ball and chain that a video game character is trying to jump past. Ironically, a shorter heavyweight could actually make wilder pay better than an awkward tall guy like vital by stepping into the danger zone and countering.

I havent forgotten vitalis chin or defense, both good if not great. The problem is vitali doesn't have the coordination and ring savvy to constantly switch between defense and offense. Controlling the pace and winning rounds will be key to both fighters and vitali will have to make a difficult choice: become very cautious and risk loosing rounds due to a lack of punches landed or try slugging it out and hope for the best. If it goes all 12 without vital getting floored, he could pull off a win. But vitali's skin would not hold up in a slugfest and he lacks the KO power to take wilder out early.

Even though wilder would have an easier chance of knocking him out, i actually think wladmir would do better than vital.

Wilder by TKO. Corrie Sanders already TKO'd the younger Klit a year prior to his fight with Vitali. Sure, Vitali cut Sanders to ribbons, but Sanders who always had poor stamina, now older and heavier than his prior fight. And he still rocked Vitali early on and dropped him (ruled a slip). Wilder not only possesses the power and speed as Corrie had, but also has the conditioning, youth and stamina Corrie lacked.

Sanders was faster and more accurate than Wilder and he had problems landing on Vitali.

Vitali will absolutely lump him up something awful and the "Wilder - Vitali" fight will be mentioned together with Duran-Moore and Dempsey-Willard.

I've grown to appreciate Wilder for who he is in the ring. A mediocre boxer with come back ability with his right hand. This makes his matches interesting until the final bell rings. Do I think he's very good? No. Has he beaten a top ten man in his prime? No.

But his flaws, which were seen on the way up with guys out boxing or even with him until he was bailed out via the bomb were on display vs Fury.

He was easily outboxed. Vitali would do the same, no he would intimidate Wilder, and probably take out him in the mid rounds because he hits a lot harder than Fury. While Wilder can hit too, Fury was a bit out of shape went the distance with him and so did Stiverne. If Ortiz were three years younger, I think he would have beaten WIlder.

    Vitali TKO in six.

I'd pick loads of guys from the 80s on the beat Wilder. I'm not not impressed at all. Yeah, he can bang, he's game, and he's quick, but his balance is awful, his technique is crap, and he's a knockout waiting to happen. Vitali's jab would keep him in place and his varied offense would do the trick late.

I'm thinking along these lines as well. You don't want to lean back against a taller opponent that's as explosive as Wilder.

I think it might be a case of Vitaly having to stop Wilder before he gets stopped himself. Don't know if he just can outbox him for 12 rds.

There seems to be an implication being made in this thread that Wilder is some kind of non-stop, unavoidable, swinging punch machine.

We just watched him subdued by a guy, who used his control of distance, a very low punch output, a jab and - yes - someone who leaned/took a step back, with ease, to avoid Wilder's telegraphed punches.

Reads more like Wilder is tailor-made for Vitali.

What meaningful fight against a top , fresh fighter did VK ever win..............he got tk'od vs the two best fighters he ever met . Fact.

His resume is littered with shot, washed up or never weres with a 1000000 miles on the clock.......unless you consider Ed Mahone a world beater.

His comeback against no skill caveman Sam Peter is impressive but Peter was even in his prime mediocre at best.

VK does not feint, does not keep a high guard, does not move is head and is a arm puncher, he uses his reflexes and height while leaning back which worked against his usual ham and egger opponents but a old Lewis tagged him at will with zero finesse, he simply walked him down while utilizing his skill, height and reach.......and in the process pounded VK into a raw hamburger.

This so called boxing genius Tyson Fury, who is a negative fight spoiler with pitty patty punches did not do much for the first half of the fight against Wilder unless one scores points with clowning or facial expressions because he was dead afraid to get countered by Wilder.........still got put on his azz twice hard......Fury movement including head and foot is miles above VK has ever shown...............VK leaves way more openings than Fury and leaning back he is eaten Wilders right hands, remember, VK has no reach or height advantage and is a basic one two puncher with a very limited punch arsenal and zero inside game........this is a long range battle with nil inside fighting and I favor the guy who is more deady from long range and that is Wilder.

BTW, last Saturday you saw Dusseldorf Fury, no doubt, the only reason he did not look as good is that Wilder actually threw some punches while shot WK simply posed for 12 deadly afraid to get countered by a pilow puncher in Fury.

The fact that 7 people on a boxing forum think Wilder knocks Vitali Klitschko out, explains how people still fall for those 419 scams. If you think Wilder KO's Vitali, you'll also believe that a mysterious Nigerian prince wants YOU to take his gold

If Lennox Lewis wasn't able to drop Vits with his sunday punch, Wilder will do nothing to him. Vitali took a counter left flush on the jaw from Sanders while moving into it and remained vertical. If those two highly accurate, monster punchers weren't able to put Vitali down, then a spastic flapper like Wilder has virtually no chance. I very much doubt he'd land anything of consequence to begin with.

Unlike 40 year old Ortiz, Vitali could fight at high volume all night and he'd put Wilder away.

It's true Vitali's resume is weak ,but Wilder's isn't any better.
