Vitali by UD in a one-sided pummeling. Toney ducked that fight like there's no tomorrow. He had a career high payday offer and everything he could ever dream of and still wanted none of it.
The first fight was close and could have gone either way, it was hardly one-sided for either fighter. The rematch was a one-sided pummeling for Peter.
Disagree with your view. I thought toney landed the majority of clean punches in the first fight. He was so clearly out of shape in the second fight I don't think it really meant much
You have it wrong there regarding the weights. Both of them were clearly way out of shape in the first fight, especially Peter. In the second fight, they were both in better shape, again especially Peter. As far as the results go, I can't argue otherwise when it comes to the first fight's result. It was a very close fight and could have gone either way. I personally thought Peter did better but neighter were impressive considering their clearly terrible physiques. It was an extremely fun fight thought.
I think anyone would fight anyone for the right amount of money, Toney by the way was offered a fight vs Wlad when Wlad was champion and he ran from it, taking a cheaper fight vs a no name. He knew better.
You are crazy if you think toney was in better condition for the rematch I don't know what evidence you are using to base that opinion on. He's visibly flabbier and slower
When the **** did Toney ever look “in shape” at HW?? Lol And that’s on him for being stupid if he did come in out of shape. He got thoroughly outboxed by Sam Peter in their rematch after saying he was going to send Peter “back home in a box”
Toney knocked out Wlad in sparring. Toney would surprise a lot of people against both brothers. Toney was underrated at heavyweight.
He looked bad in the rematch because Peter never allowed him to look good. Peter was in amazing shape in the rematch both clearly mentally and physically. That's what caught Toney off-guard and left him looking terrible. Toney was in terrible shape both fights. In the first fight, he had a slow plodding Peter who could have made a lot of fighters look good overnight. In the rematch you had a slimmer Peter who was always ready to fight in the middle of the ring.
