Where would Walcott sit among the men that Vitally Klitschko has fought?

Somewhere between Lewis and Byrd.

Not exactly a great starting point for Vitally!

Now I do think that Vitally was significantly better than his paper record suggests, but lets' not make him a runaway favorite here!

 

Actually I agree. Was seconds away from picking Vitali, but that is a bad starting point if we're being brutally honest. Now I'm not sure.

At his best Walcott was at least equal to if not better than Byrd in terms of skill and had more power. Yes Vitali injured his shoulder, but Byrd took the fight on short notice and did alright considering the huge size difference.

 

I do not agree with that. Vitali was ahead by 2-3 points in my book and Byrd was taking over.

 

Vitali would have had his hands full with byrd regardless of that injury. Vitali always had trouble with slicksters.

 

This. Not to mention that Walcott has a more annoying style than Byrd and knockout power in both hands.

 

Joe would find a way to lose like he did so often, fully 30% of the time he entered a pro ring.

The benefit of the doubt being granted here is ludicrously uneven.

 

Vitali's shoulder explodes before the third round in 50% of fantasy matches here. In another shocker, his face degloves 30% of the time whenever he faces anybody that has scored a knockout in their career. His chances are mighty slim at 20% chance of making it to the end bell. Also, there's invariably somebody that picks him to get knocked out clean despite the fact that he was never off his feet.

 

Yeah, and Vitali was still winning with only one good arm - after he injured the other one, from round 3 on.

Why don't you take a knee and and eye away from Vitali too? Byrd might have been able to win all on his own after that.

 

A lot of fighters went the distance with these kind of injuries you know, Vitali did not. chris has an excuse too, he took the fight on short notice

 

The point is Byrd was not winning. Vitali was not in danger from him at any point.

A 2 armed Vitali would have wrecked him.

Byrd did not, -nor was he ever - going to beat Vitali . Vitali just could no longer use his arm and the pain was to much to continue. Perhaps had he not hit Byrd so many times his shoulder would not have blown out.??

People try to make something from this fight that was never a reality.

 

People love to mention Vitali's injury, but never mention how Byrd took the fight on a weeks notice.
