Norton is being severely underrated here.

The issue many people have is they look at a couple of losses and think it defines a career. Look at the facts - Who was the only person to stop Norton in his prime? Foreman. That's it. Hardly definite proof of a weak chin. That result was copied in similar fashion against Shavers and Cooney but Norton was past his best by then and both Shavers and Cooney had much more concussive power than Vitali.

Aside from that, where exactly is this precedent for Vitali stopping people quickly? As Klitschko fans are quick to point out, Lewis had a glass chin, right? And yet Vitali couldn't even put him down. So who exactly gas Vitali stopped quickly who is a half decent fighter? Kirk "Fat ****" Johnson? Herbie "Glass Jawed Cruiser" Hide? Please. Vitali has never, ever stopped anyone as tough as Norton quickly. It took him rounds to get rid of former cruisers, out of shape heavies, weak chinned fighters and more.

There is absolutely no precedent for an early stoppage given these facts. Norton's chin wasn't that weak and Vitali didn't/doesn't hit that hard.

Norton could start slow but if he got into his stride, I think he'd outbox Vitali and win a unanimous decision. Vitali has never beaten anyone remotely as skilled or athletic as Norton, whereas Norton gas fought better boxers than Vitali and won. If the fight isn't an early blowout win for Vitali, which it wouldn't be, it'd be a boxing match and that's the sort of scenario I can't see Vitali winning.

I don't think he was past prime against shavers. I think shavers was the one who ended his prime tho. By cooney he was shot.

By and large I agree with the sentiment of your post in that vitali wouldn't knock him out and norton certainly has a chance at out boxing him.

I disagree with the whole post. Because its full of opinion overriding facts. Like you posted Foreman hits harder than Vitali. Thats opinion over fact. Briggs said Vitali was the bigger puncher of the two and just too prove it he pulled some time in ICU with the bones in his face crushed.

You posted Garcia was a better resume oppoenent than any one Vitali has fought. Thats a joke!

And a SD over Young who went on to lose three of his next four fights does not make a Klitschko killer out of Norton or any other fighter....

You're really going to compare the foreman and vitali that briggs fought? Really? I'm talking the foreman that
destroyed frazier and norton not a 50 year old man who got robbed against a prime never was.

Norton's resume is far superior to vitali's.

A quick look at boxrec doesn't do young justice you moron. Watch some of his fights, namely his effort against ali.

While I like the fact you analyze your prediction, I disagree. Vitali look clumsy on TV but has unbelievable reflexes (prime version), which, coupled with his height, made him on of the hardest fighters to hit ever. Nobody ever outlanded Vitali in a boxing match, not Lewis, noone. Norton was good but his good performances against Ali also had to do with the fact that Ali of the 70's often was arrogant, stood there talking to his opponent and not utilizing his ability fully. Prime Vitali was a beast, never letting up on his opponent. Norton can't hurt him and Vitali's reflexes always neutralized his opponent's speed if they were perceived to have a speed advantage. To beat Vitali, a fighter would have to be a complete boxer puncher like Lewis who could bang with him or have some otherworldly attribute like prime Ali with his speed.

Jack, i don't know why you or luf get into anything that is remotely detailed of an analysis with the K-tards. All they see is them brutalizing these current crop of bums and think that they could have done it to anybody. These debates always break down into two catagories; those who know and those who support the bros.

I disagree on your assessment about norton v ali. They had 3 fights and norton came out on top. The things things that make me give norton an edge are that he can slip punches just as good as byrd could, he has a wild over hand right that with all the best will in the world, vitali won't avoid it and he has an atg heavyweight body attack, the likes of which vitali has never experienced.

The one favour vitali has is volume. But I think norton's cross block and head movement coupled with his wild right will be enough to offset that volume.

:patsch No he didnt slip punches as good as BIRD . In fact not even close . KENNY was a conventinal fighter who wouldnt be hard to find or hurt . Its a missmatch in VITALYs favour .

His two wins over ali, his win over quarry, his win over young and his revenge win over garcia. His top 5 Imo and vitali cannot compete with that top 5.
