Those uppercuts and right hands he was taking were colossal. Far harder than anything Norton could throw or take. And Vitali's chin was validated in one of his next fights against Sanders.

40 pounds is a three weight class jump or more. It's no accident that most of the best at heavyweight today are super heavies. Examples: Fly to Welter ( more than 3 weight classes ) Lightweight to Light Heavyweight. ( more than 3 weight classes ) Middleweight to Heavyweight. ( 3 weight classes ), 4 if you include super middle. Some other points. Garcia at 188 pounds Ko'd Kenny Norton. Insert your excuse. Other points: Briggs wasn't KO'd from 1999-2016, a 16-year span. I'd hardly call Ibragimov, Klitschko, McCline, or Siarhei Liakhovich " turkey's " They can all punch, and Briggs fought them in the above timeline when they were in their primes, well Vitali was a little past his.
This might deserve a little emphasis. I don't think anybody thinks Vitali would just blow Norton away. But what I do think would happen is what happened in nearly all of Vitali's fights: Klitschko plays games with range, counters or he slides forward and uses his extremely accurate jab and 1-2 to slowly bust up the smaller man before grinding him out late. Norton's going to have problems landing power punches like virtually everybody else that fought Vitali. If Sanders couldn't land his sizzlers with any degree of certainty, Norton isn't going to be able to either.
That's what I've been saying as well. And Sanders didn't just land on him cold like the Lewis uppercut, he countered Vitali coming in. I would have put money on Corrie starching anybody with that punch (and I think he very nearly did) but Vitali, though wobbled, recovered well and quickly. There's always got to be some dumbass who argues against reality for (or against, in this case) his pet fighter atsch
if a 38 year old fat boy retiree who didn't get near a title shot when prime, couldn't land his shots? then norton cant. deserves emphasis, for different reasons.
I also listed the names of about 4 or 5 big hitters and of course the only one he chose to respond about was the ONLY one who managed to stop him.. Go figure.
i'm not disputing vitali has a fair to good chin. whats your problem with this? no? then lets move on to the issue at hand - I am disputing your claim that he can take lewis bombs for a fight. He took them for no more than 6 rounds, from the worst ever lewis. u cant surmise from this he'd take them for 7, 8 or 12.
go figure that u are ignoring the argument at hand. As for your socalled list - 6 round Sam Peter and retired Sanders don't prove a great chin.
And perhaps he couldn't. But taking those kinds of bombs from Lewis ( even that version ) for six rounds is a helluva lot more than he'd have to take against Norton who wouldn't have the style or reach to land on him as often and nor the power to be effective even if he did. And I'm not convinced Norton would even last into the championship rounds anyway, making this entire discussion moot on all levels.
better, certainly better than a sarky sulk "oh he missed my argument" but why r u arguing this? to what end? Norton isn't likely to stop tough vitali, he going to outbox him.
The argument at hand is who would win between Norton and Klitscko. I used Vitali's chin as PART of my argument and can personally care less weather or not he can take Lewis's best for 12 rounds as the result wouldn't help Norton. It proves plenty as both of those men could crack. Sure they have their limitations but punching power isn't among them.
