It turns out per slow motion replay that Solis seems to have hurt one or both of his legs due to a wide stance. It wasn't the punch that sent him down after all (it was only a soft short right hand, and he'd taken harder hits already earlier in the round).

He seems to have twisted/rolled his left ankle, and then also hurt his right knee while stumbling and falling backward.

    TKO1 from injury.

The punch seemed to complete kill his legs and he injured his knee going down. Wow, you have to have one HELL if a glass jaw for a shot like that to completely stiffen your legs and put you in the position to **** your leg like that.

Looked like a temple shot, threw him off balance and then maybe he want down and hurt his knee, sprained it and never got his balance back.

i didn't get to see it but it sounds like kermit cintron jumping out of the ring against williams.

other than when sweet pea blew out his shoulder and grant broke his leg, i cannot remember the last time a fight ended on an in-fight injury(foreman came into the cotto fight injured)such as this.

Solis either got hurt but that left hook to the temple and THEN he messed up his knee/ankle or he just messed it up by the way he placed his feet.

They are talking about his walking but how many other player from different storts have torn there ACL, MCL ect and couldnt even try and get off the floor but then after 5 minutes they get up and walk with a little limp like nothing was really wrong and they would be fine? could be the same thing here who knows.

Solis did look hurt after that grazing left hook to the temple before he went down up maybe not but he was actually doing pretty good in the first round. Better then anyone has in a round vs VK since Corrie Sanders

The commentators all find it fishy that they aren't removing Solis' footwear if it's a lower leg injury (and the fact that Solis doesn't appear to be in pain). Lewis suggests that Solis had a pre-existing injury from training that he didn't announce, and aggravated it during the round. Solis looks VERY embarrassed. Klitschko ran over to him right at the time of the stoppage and was yelling in his face. It was hard to tell if he was concerned for him, or furious with him (a'la the ending of Danny Green vs. Paul Briggs).

The guys in-studio with Lennox are Sam Rosen & Tony Paige. :conf Do they have any boxing background that anyone knows of? Lewis is pissed at Solis and really thinks it was a previous injury and that he shouldn't have come into the ring and "taken the money and run" from the paying public.

Dan Rafael agrees with Lennox Lewis and compares it to the Cotto-Foreman bout (where Yuri Foreman actually wore a brace into the ring, so the pre-existing injury was already known about before it was aggravated during the action). He says it's very disappointing to see a 1st round KO in a heavyweight championship fight where a good punch isn't landed...and VK never landed a really good punch. This is one of the times DR is 100% right.
