Golota owns Vitali. Even if the pair collided in 2004 (past Golota's prime and the year he "beat" Byrd and Ruiz) the Pole would have still bested his Slavic counterpart from Ukraine. This would prove a boxing lesson and schooling for "Dr. Ironfist". I am not using sophistry when coming to these conclusions. Golota was simply a beast, a true straight-up fighter in every sense of the word. Think about it: Vitali the boxer would be scared of Andrew, he would run from him when the going got tough (which includes being bitten or fouled by his opponent). The Warsaw-born, Chicago resident would probably not even need more than 6 rounds to rough up the big Ukrainian kid enough to force him to have no choice but to quit. The elder Klitschko owes Golota. It was Golota who started paving the way for the beginning of the end of the black hegemony (dominance) in boxing's heavyweight division. Consequently, he opened the door for the Klitschko brothers who took over in that regard. Andrew would stop at nothing to show Vitali that he's even lucky to share the same ring with his Eastern European predecessor.

Yeah because VK was vulnerable wasn't he, and got destroyed early in fights pmsl...you got it back to front blood...Golota gets dq'd eventually while behind on cards. One was made of steel, the other was the weakest mentally one could ever see..Look at their resistance when in with Lennox a common opponent

It's not a good assessment for Golota was injected with a painkiller that led to his post-fight seizure and of course, his poor performance in the ring earlier that night. Vitali fought Lewis without any problems unlike Andrew. Had Golota not been injected and made woozy (Andrew won an out-of-court settlement for $1 million after doctor was sued, it's all legitimate and factual) Lennox and Andrew would have torn the house down in AC that night. We would have seen a brawl similar to Andy's matches with Bowe.

He had zero bottle for a tear up, he bottled every hard fight he was in bar Bowe, and Bowe was finished then ! Golota is an embarrassment, massive amounts of quit in him

Many people say the two Bowe matches were a case of Riddick being shot rather than Golota being that good. But if you take Golota's aforementioned amateur background (coming from a strong Eastern European amateur tradition) he clearly took his training seriously as opposed to Bowe. If "Big Daddy" was physically finished by only age 28, then that was only his fault as he would fail to carefully watch his diet between fights. You can't penalize Golota's good performances all because his opponent was shot or done due to poor training and dieting.

An embarrassment is one thing Golota certainly is not. Andrew Golota is a Polish-born idol of millions. Andrew pioneered a title path that fellow Polish-born heavyweights (Sosnowski, Adamek, Wach, Wawrzyk, Szpilka, Ugonoh) followed. Golota fought the finest professional boxers of his era making millions of dollars in the second greatest era in heavyweight history led by Hall of Famers Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, and Tyson. The Warsaw-born fighter in effect garnered a massive cult following in his native homeland where he was a superstar. Consequently, Golota established a permanent legacy as a Polish boxing icon.

I'm not buying the idea that the Holyfield trilogy finished Riddick. It's an excuse for the shellacking "Big Daddy" took against the "Powerful Pole".

How many boxers' prime ends in their late 20s? Seriously. How awkward, atypical, and weird. Does it ever happen? I've never heard of a legit case/example. Name such fighters besides "Bowe".

No it didn't finish him, it was a combo of that though, and reaching the top, winning the title, and losing all dedication. Well documented......

A hard fought decision win for Vitto if fought clean. this is the prime golota that lewis easily stopped in 1.

if dirty with a blind ref then golota has the edge to win. He knew how to cheat better than Vits.

You can say it was not a 100% Bowe though cant you?? There is loads of fights Golota should be ashamed of. He proved against Tyson that he was a quitter and with Grant. I actually half rate Golota, but its nonsense to think hes a cut above Vk or better h2h
