Jack had 10" of reach and 3"+ of height over Marciano. I think that gives him the better chance of landing full force against Vitali. Marciano needs to be busy and close. Vitali is not going to allow both. He will be pushed around and tied up. Sorry, that's the way I see it.

    Go sue me.

Whatever. I rate Marciano over Dempsey overall.

So do I, but this is a specific match-up not an overall rating.

Khan vs. Alexander is much like some boxers we compare today. Alexander had the more impressive resume in terms of beating the best foe either fought.. Persia.... Khan had more victories and conquered more people but the competition to do so was pretty much ham and eggers.. So which do you prefer..

Marciano might get TKO 6'd in the same manner.

I see Marciano getting saved from serious health implications by the referee/doctor/corner, much before he goes down for a 10.

Charles, who was a modest puncher at heavyweight stunned Marciano. According to papers, so did a relatively light punching Ted Lowry.

Boxing loves David vs Goliath matches. I think the script here would be a bit more like Godzilla vs. Bambi. Rocky is giving up too much here. I don't see Vitlai losing more than a round. Marciano takes a pasting, won't be able to land much, and would likely get a stopped from a concerned ring doctor or referee.

I have seen Ginger Baker stare at a baby gopher until it hyperventilates and passes out. Twice. Within a minute of each other. He used the two baby gophers to play the drum part of Edwin Starr's War, backwards and double-time. Neither baby gopher ever woke up.

And the goddamn bassist, trashy dude who wasn't Clapton, just sat there **** eating grin on his smug lilliputian face, laughing and spackling the dry wall with the tears of geriatric Dutch groupies. If I hasn't schlepped that fat, gorilla from the zoo in Delhi we traded for a parchment from the Odyssey written in human feces I would have missed the whole scene. And the World would never had heard Tales of great Ulysses.

I have heard Ginger Baker be one of the most over-rated ill-tuned lousy drummers for a lifetime.

Oh, and he is a horrendous egotistical ***** to boot. Give me Mitch Mitchell any day.

Very hurt? He was on his feet immediately after a flash KD against Walcott. I don't consider that hurt.

The reference to Adamek was because he used to fight at Suoer middle. The last thing a boxer loses is their power.

That's an old adage that boxing wags like to toss around but is simply not the truism it is made out to be. Vitali is a prime case in point. He has an injured knee, back and shoulder. He simply can not transmit power from his base through his punches and has been reduced to an arm puncher. It's very obvious if you watch his earlier fights compared to these latest efforts. I do get a real kick, though, from folks comparing the 40 year old Vitali to a 30 year old Marciano. I still pick Vitali.
