Interestingly enough I think I favour Rocky over Vitali.

Vitali is even worse on the inside than wlad is. He doesn't even have the art of clinching down. He also relies a bit more on timing holds his hands low and takes more risks which makes him a tad easier to time yourself.

Vitali has fought two men of the stature of rocky and that's hide and Byrd. Hide was giving him troubles until he got knocked out (but his chin was known to be weak) byrd successfully walked him down and bossed any inside battle. He actually clearly outlander vitali in that despite throwing maybe half the punches.

give rocky a bit more muscle and I see him working his way inside and choppin up his body. He will lose rounds but he'll win enough for it to be close going down the stretch. I think vitali will tire and ultimately get dropped in the late rounds securing a close points win for Rocky.

So despite me picking Wlad and Lewis over rocky I do think he could and would beat vitali but he'd have to bulk up to about 200.

Vitali is clearly better than Vlad inside. Vitali actual fights inside, unlike Vlad, who mostly just holds. Vitali throws uppercuts and body punches, and he's been doing that since his kickboxing days. He knows how to clinch too, but he doesn't need to do it as much as his brother does.

As for Hide and Byrd, they both have completely different styles than Marciano, so the comparison is invalid. They are also taller, have considerably greater reach, and faster hands than Marciano. Hide gave Vitali trouble for what, one round? He did that by staying outside and jumping in with quick shots, and then jumping outside again. That's not how Marciano fights. Meanwhile, Vitali dropped Hide with the first significant shot he landed and finished him with the second in under 2 rounds.

As for Byrd walking Vitali down and bossing any inside action, that's just absolute horse****. Post the video of it right now. You can't because it never happened. Byrd won maybe 2 of 9 rounds. He did not outland Vitali by any stretch of the imagination. And it's not like Vitali had a shoulder problem or anything. Byrd caused problems for Vitali with his southpaw style, elusiveness, and fast hands - not his inside game.

Marciano is not getting inside on Vitali. Vitali is too strong and too quick on his feet. He will hold Marciano at a distance and pummel him with punches from all angles. Marciano isn't going to be able to take those shots.

What suggests to you when you go through Rocky's career that he wouldn't be able to handle "those shots".

Sadly the elder Klit would probably win this

What's to be sad about? Marciano most likely crushes any and every cruiser/light heavy who entered the ring.

I think so too, Vitali is one tough S.O.B. If you come to brawl he can stand and bang, If you want to box he can box, Hard puncher with a iron chin. He also had very good feet in his younger days. Beats his brother easy too, but I imagine his brother would be too scared to fight him(like all good little brothers lol)

He had enough trouble crushing Don Cockell, and I don't rate Cockell at all.

Foreman knocks out Joe Frazier in 2
Ali goes the distance with Frazier and can't knock him out
Ali knocks out Foreman in 8

What point are you trying to make?

How does a weak chinned former LHW like Cockell go 9 rounds with one of the hardest punchers of all time? Cockell is no Mayweather with the defense. Rock was beating up past prime cruisers and light heavies wearing 6 ounce gloves. He wore 8 ouncers against Cockell. What does he do in 10 or 12 ounce gloves?

Marciano was landing though. And despite fouling Cockell numerous times, he was unable to actually knock him out - Cockell was stopped on his feet. And this is a man who had been KO'd by light heavies. Basically, I am skeptical of Marciano's power, especially if he was to fight in modern gloves.

He didn't start opening up on Cockell till after the 5th round and when he did , Don went out through the ropes. You haven't a clue.

Rocky almost quit boxing after his 25th fight when he punched Vingo into a coma. Vingo's family convinced him to keep going and from there he had a fear of killing his opponents. He could of taken Louis out at any time, his corner had to tell him ,go out and get it over and done with.

Rocky of about Fraziers size would beat Vitali and quite badly too. I doubt Vitali would have enough power to keep Marciano off of him and isn't as effective as his brother in neutralising opponents up close. Rocky will be moving in with his awkward crouch throwing leather that will be landing everywhere and anywhere on Vitali and IMO will do enough damage to have a late TKO victory.
