Vitali wants to run again for the chance to become mayor of Kiev...

So is Wlad going to fight Sammy right away?

No...Wlad hasn't joined the rest of us in the real world who recognize Vitali's inability to stay healthy enough to fight.

It'll be 2009 and he'll still be clinging to the hopes of a brother/brother ruled HW division.

Hopefully he'll have a 3rd belt by then.

If Vitali decides to put his "comeback" on hold, I could see King having Golota or a lower-level contender fight Peter.

But most boxing fans want a unified undisputed heavyweight champ so this must be very good news - maybe even a great Easter present...

I meant that I think Vitali would have been the harder fight for Peter

I think so, too - but now a big hurdle for an undisputed HW champion is out of the way.

I knew something would come up, it will be Golota/Peter later this year.

Now I will be rooting even harder for Valuev to beat Chagaev in their rematch in May.

Don King said in an interview that if Valuev wins back the title, he will put him into a fight with Peter - I can see this fight to happen in September... :happy

I don't see the "news" in here. That's basically what Vitali already said months ago, he wants to come back but it's possible that he may pull out for a second run at the Kiev elections.

I hope your right bro, It would be a interesting fight for sure, I hate Vitali as a person, and if the source is true, I'm glad he's not getting undeserved crack at the title.:good

Lets hope so. Peter will still have to face Gomez though before he can think about a fight with Wlad.

Gomez first must fight Virchis in a WBC final eliminator in late September - for sure he could fight in a unifier before taking on his mandatory or do you thin he'll sit around another year before stepping into the ring again?
