Oh well, so much for that.

I guess there is still a chance he'll fight Peter, but I ain't holding my breath.

I guess now we should see the good in this and that is that Wlad will now have a free opportunity to beat Peter and unify.

Vitali is my favorite heavyweight, and I hate to see him not return, but at least we've now got a chance to see Peter Wlad II. I think Wlad should push for this fight, NOW, as I am sure Peter and King would certainly be ALL over it.

Real candidates for Kyiv Mayor post are Klitschko, Lutsenko, Omelchenko

Vitaliy Klitschko, Yuri Lutsenko, Oleksandr Omelchenko and a BYuT representative, are the real candidates from the democratic coalition for the Kyiv Mayor post, as of today.

According to a UNIAN correspondent, OU-PSD faction member Kyrylo Kulikov said this in an interview with journalists today.

According to his words, the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko enjoys the dominating position in Kyiv presently. The lawmaker pointed out that, at the same time, BYuT does not have any bright representative for the post of Kyiv Mayor, except for Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, who will hardly run for Kyiv Mayor.

At the same time, according to K.Kulikov, Kyiv residents mostly support V.Klitschko, Y.Lutsenko and O.Omelchenko. He expressed hope that the democratic coalition will propose a single candidate for the Kyiv election.

Are you sure about this? I'm pretty sure Gomez has been promised a shot because he beat McCall in what was meant to be a final eliminator. Haven't you read about all the hoopla with the WBC heavyweight title?

Virchis is next for Gomez for the eliminator, yes. I also thought McCall was Gomez's last hurdle, but since he's beaten McCall, someone apparently thought he now needs to beat Virchis, as well.

Seems like Gomez is being screwed in this whole mess, but......

You might have lost some recent press releases by Universum which will stage Gomez vs. Virchis in September - the date was pushed back from March 8 b/c of both fighters having backed out of the first proposed date.

Hey look I'm glad if you're right but I thought there was still a bit of a messy situation with the WBC title. If not then great, bring on Wlad Peter 2.:good

If so this is good news and I kinda like Klits the elder.

Peter and VitKlits could have ended up with a postponement or 4 and if VitKlits were to win then the chances of further unification just got that much more difficult.

Wlad gets Tony the Tiger out of the way this summer and maybe Peter beats up Golota or someone similar about the same time.

    I actually like a Peter/Golota fight.

Then fall or winter of this year.....Wlad/Peter 2 for 3 titles and 1 champion, finally.

    Good news indeed.

I'd really like to see Vitali back in the ring... I mean he was the no1 before the injuries and looked unbeatable after Lewis retired... there's the opportunity to get his title back easily, but he's again back in the politics?

Very bad move, he should've learnt his lesson a few years ago. The best he can do to his people is to fight and make them proud...

I think Vitali has more chances of winning the WBC title and having success in boxing than in winning the Kiev elections. He wasn't elected two years ago and I doubt he gets elected now.

I bet Wlad/Peter dont happen for awhile, Wlad got to handle his business with Thompson, then take on Povetkin. Peter will probably end up fighting Golota if I had to guess, then Gomez/Virchis. I think Valuev/Chagaev are the wild cards in this one, I could see the winner of this fight calling out either Wlad or Peter, either way, I hope the news is true and Vitali stays the hell out of the ring for good.

According to your source his party must decide quickly who will be the leading candidate for this appointment - it's not that long till June...

    Peter vs Ruiz.

Ruiz is WBC #3. He has never sued King & King loves him for it.

    Book It!:smoke
