He was 243 against Klitschko, then 257 and 249 against Toney. I highly doubt he can come in below 250 (plus/minus 2 pounds) these days.

While I would normally agree, I feel he needs to get at least below 245 to be top form against a good fighter like Vitali, but 240 would be perfect IMO.

I think Vitali has more power than Wladimir

It's possible that Vitali gets injured and loss via tko like in the Byrd fight
but i can't see Peter knocking out Vitali.

If Vitali is in shape of 2004 : KO4 Vitali

If Vitali is in bad shape UD12 Peter or tko Peter because of an Klitschko injury

Exactly. Prime Vitali would rightfully be a big favorite to beat Peter at this point, but now?? He pulls out with injuries LONG before the fight.:yep

If Vitali don't make it to the fight, then I'd obviously pick Peter to win. But that's the only scenario where I'd pick Peter; by default. LOL

Bottom line; Peter will take a beating physically, in this fight, and his whole career/aura/reputation will take the most damage. Vitali will come in to this fight, cold, after being inactive and having been in surgery, three times since his last fight, and he'll still blow Peter out of the water as he did Danny Williams.

And Peter, the once big, bad, Tyson-esque destroyer, will look so bad, in comparison, that his career will be damaged and he'll never be veiwed the same way, again. Peter's days of being seen as a top heavyweight will be over with in a few months.

    Count on it.

Will have to agree to disagree in the power department, but when you both Wlad and Vitali punch, Wlad commits more to his jab and straight right, but I will settle for comparable power.

Vitali will not come in looking like the 04 version, he will be slower, less reflexes, and his balance will be terrible, only his power will remain intact. I feel Peter will put Vitali down, and will end up being stopped between the 5th and 7th round, somethings gonna happen, win or lose, this fight will not go the distance.

How do you know that he won't be anywhere close to what he was? You are assuming too much, as some times when a pro fighter has had a very hard career, sometimes a period of rest does them good, and benefits their overall performance when they come back, after having had time to allow their body to fully rest and recover.

You don't know what condition he'll be in, and neither do I, but I tend to say that as lean and in shape as he always is, and as smart as the guy is, he would not attempt a comeback, AND a mayoral run, if he didn't already KNOW that he was feeling great, was fully ready, and comparable to, if not as good as where he was in 2004.

See, I have somewhat of a reason to back up my stance, where you have only hate and bad intentions for him, to support your prediction. LOL (kidding)

I like you Heavyrighthand, but you know deep down, that Vitali will not be the same fighter he once was, reflexes and overall speed slow naturally as you get older, espeically once you get into your 30's and 40's. We all remember when Tyson came back after 3 and a half years, he was worse in every department aside from his power, which practically stayed the same. I'm not saying Vitali will suck, and I hope Peter is taking Vitali serious, because I know Vitali is going to give him hell early on. That's agree on one thing, if the fight does happen, it will be one hell of a show the Heavyweight division surely needs.:good

If the training session is set up properly his reflexes and timing should be oK unless age catches up with him and it does after 35 but experience and power should take over I say vitali beats him up.

peter has gotten heavier and heavier. i doubt we will see him below 250 anymore. he's being managed by don king so that's a death sentence. his stable of trainers aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer :yep

the 4 peter nuthuggers on this site (punisher, sugewhite, ambdef, and 40oz) should stop with this 240 pound bs.

Corrie Sanders gave Vitali a good battle early on because of his
tremendous handspeed, power and counterpunching ability. Corrie
is also very tall so negated Vitali's height advantage. Peter is a slow,
overweight, plodding fighter with a strong punch and is very durable
and brave. If Vitali is in good shape and relatively injury free come
fight time he will outbox and brutalize Peter from distance and then
move in for the kill. Vitali has all the physical advantages; superior
height, far better technical boxing skills, more experience, slightly
better chin and better endurance. Peter's in for a long, painful night.
