Peter looked like **** in the Maskaev fight. Peter did not even knock Glass Jaw Oleg off his feet you act like he knocked him out cold. Peter has what 2 KO's in his last 6 fights?

Wlad has more one punch power

Vitali has very good power but he'll string together 2,3,4 big punches to get you out

wlad will line you up for his Jab right combo or left hook straight right it's 2 punch max these days (unfortunately)

Bonus points for knocking out Maskaev? Are you kidding? No you're not, and that is what is so sad about all of this. Maskaev was 39, hadn't fought in over a year, and had been KO'd five times before. In fact this stoppage was the least impressive of any of the stoppages of Maskaev, and that says a lot. Peter has yet to KO anyone that would prove he is a tremendous puncher or the most dangerous fighter. Vitali won't fight him, too injury prone and done wit hthe sport, but Wladimir, Chagaev, Virchis and Valuev all beat him. Hell Chambers would probably outbox him and Povetkin probably would stop him.

I wasn't impressed by maskaev but I thought he had a better shot than he did mostly because of sam peters awful performance against McCline

oh don't be a dumb ****. When was the last time Vitali was in the ring? the guy's body is breaking down.

Who knows what he's gonna look like, add to the fact that Vitali isnt a one punch KO kind of puncher, hes more of an accumulation type. He hits hard as hell but it takes a few.

    This thread is stupid.

What the fans have to look forward to is one man who can't get into shape and the other who WON'T get into shape.

You got your opinions, I got mine. I would say close to 50% on this board perdicted a Peter loss against Maskaev, I'm gussing you were one of them. I'm not saying Peters the next Tyson, but he has showed alot of what it takes to be champ in the heavyweight division, and be the number 2 man, he has a ton of heart, solid chin, very powerful, and is looked at as one of the most exciting fighters in the division, with his come forward and toe to toe type fighting style.

I agree, Peters stamina/weight was embarassing, but he did what he had to do and gave the fans a TKO finish, unlike Wlad who showed a ton of weakness by not throwing his right for fear of being countered. Wlad's performance was alot worse than Peters, at least in the end Peter finished the job.

No actually I was picking Peter from the moment this fight was signed over a year ago. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Fair enough, most Wlad nuthuggers were picking Maskaev to win, so I assumed you might of done the same. Who do you got if the Vitali/Peter does happen?

One I have never said anything to suggest I am a Wlad nuthugger.

Two the fight won't happen as Vitali's body won't hold up in training.

The Vitali/Peter fight is set to happen in September, but dont hold your breath, from what I read the venue and other matters on the contract has not been officially accepted by either side, so who knows.
