at least briggs has a small punchers chance, holyfiel not. vitali would badly hurt holy, because holy would not quit and took the punishment and holy is too small for vitali i dont want see that! plus he ist 48!

but he cames from a bad ko, he is not recover. plus no punch and to small!

id give vitali more credit for beating someone who atleast campaigns at the top level. holyfield is doing this. he has lateral movement, briggs has none.

chambers has recently beaten brock, peter, dmitrenko, he has a good defence. i would give vitali more credit for beating eddie.

how idiotic do you have to be to some tua up as a guy who "was kd from barret"

barret has fought better vs tye fields and tua than brggs has since he beat foreman.

barret lost all his fights against better comp. barret would be a biger joke, than briggs! holy is an zombie and too small, and can not hurt vitali with his punch. chambers was badly koed in his last fight, he must revover at first. tua is shot, like briggs. briggs=tua!

Adamek isn't quite ready yet, but they are reprotedly in negotiations for next year.

Did you just not hear about the whole Povetkin controversy?

Boytsov is only now recovering from hand surgery.

Since being beaten by Wlad, Thompson has done as little as Briggs to merit another shot.

Solis turned Vitaly down recently. Besides, fat **** that he is. Briggs is a more credible fight.

Do you just not know that Chambers was only recently knocked out by Wlad?

briggs has lost all his fights against better comp also.

    put it this way.

would you expect briggs to beat holyfield today? i wouldnt.

would you expect briggs to beat chambers today? i wouldnt.

would you expect briggs to beat tua today? i wouldnt.

would you expect briggs to beat barret today? i wouldnt.

    just like tua did right?

yes it is pointless when you try saying briggs is a good option, because there are very few cross comparisons that briggs wins.

se this is my thing with briggs.

he hasnt earned his shot, he isnt a top 20 hw right now, he hasnt beaten anyone meaningful for years.

yes he is a former champ, yes he has a helluva punch, yes he has made short work of every recent opponent.

lets not make it what it isnt. he is not the best available opponent. he is a former champ who will look good on vitali's resume.

people can say, "well the worst opponent vitali fought since his comeback was shannon briggs, not too shabby eh?"

he doesnt deserve any credit if he wins. he wll get credit in years to come f he can lennox lewis his arse, but right now, anyone who follows boxing knows a vitali win over briggs doesnt mean much.

I think one of the reasons Vitali took this fight is legacy. Briggs is his age, held a title twice, and they never fought. It's similar to Valuev--Valuev is shot but Vitali wants the name on his resume.

Don't forget also that Briggs is the only dude out there calling out the Klits out AND he followed through when Vitali gave him a chance. Briggs actually went "On the Ropes" and said the Klits have been ducking him and a few weeks later there is talk of Briggs-Vitali.

Agreed that a win doesn't mean much. So is it worth the risk? Maybe there isn't all that much risk involved. Or maybe there really is no one left for Vitali to fight.
