Liston's long jab would make mince meat out of Vitali's face. Both of the brothers cut fairly easily. Mercer marked up or cut Wladimir with his jab if I'm remembering correctly.

Vitali is Robot Ali, he is a mechanical interpretation of that style. He is also 6'7". He would out jab and out hustle Liston and be able to move and control the range.

Very difficult for a novice to judge.
All options seem possible to me; even if Liston wins by knockout.

I’m not surprised that you’re shocked to see some negativity toward him for a change. People talk a lot about Lyle & Tua having inflated reputations around here, but big brother is on another astral plane of mythology entirely.

Well hey, I touched on that, just without your hyperbole and humorous flare! ;)

…and there’s at least one common major difference between Vitali and Tua or Lyle.

I’m not surprised people have criticism of him, or are picking Liston to win… but some comments make him sound like he got by on toughness and size, which is just not the case.

I haven’t looked it up but I’m sure Tua held some kind of a non-linear belt, as did Klitschko. Lyle was less fortunate to have fought in an era where these weren’t handed out like candy.

I wouldn't bet and I wouldn't be suprised if Vitali wins but I wouldn't be too if Liston wins.

    50/50 this time.

Leon Spinks was lineal in Lyle's era

Vitali was widely viewed as the top heavyweight in the world in 2003/2004 following the Lewis fight

You don’t get points for what people think you could or probably would do.

Ring Magazine recorgnized him as champ

How did Holmes establish lineage again? By beating a shot retired Ali and never unifying?

Now you’ve done it. Criticising Holmes’ title reign.

No problem with his reign but his lineal claim seems dubious given he never unified or defeated a reigning champion.
