Finally someone gets it. Vitali is old now and does nothing better than Wlad.

exactly. what would it prove? that a champion being 33 years old and in his prime, after 7 successful defenses and 5 years of building his boring but effective defensive stile is at the moment better than 38 year old fighter who've just came out of retirement and after a couple of fights would again go or be sent back on the bench and who's declining in his 2 last fights?

for me it's 50/50, but not a draw (if mommy wouldn't ask for it, of course). but it would be a huge event!

Even though Vitali is past his prime now, most boxing fans still believe Vitali will get to Wlad's weak chin and knock him out. I think Wlad's so used to getting his way with smaller men, that a fighter as big as him may give him some trouble. Vitali is not as skilled or as fast as Wlad, but he is mentally a tougher guy in the ring. You never see Wlad panic after getting hit with a decent shot, or hit the canvas like a ton of bricks, the man is a cool customer.

I see Vitali knocking Wlad out early, Corrie Sanders style. Wlad only looks good when he's comfortable, Vitali will not make Wlad feel at ease at all in their match. He will look to engage and Wlad wont have answer for it.

Wlad looked really good last night. I understand where people are coming from saying he didnt take him out soon enough and was too cautious but that is just a criticism of personality and not ability. Otherwise he looked great last night, the best Ive seen him under Steward. He was actually using BOTH hands and not just the left, putting together combinations, was real calm and relaxed, was good defensively and strategically. His handspeed is damn good for his size.

Vitali is still the 2nd best heavy in the world today no doubt but he has lost some speed and timing/reflexes since his comeback. He didnt really get nailed solid yet in the comeback so who knows if his punch resistance is as good as it was when he was fighting Sanders and Lewis.

I always favored Vitali over Wlad before, but now I will have to say Wlad wins. Though if it was in 2004 or the Vitali of 2004 versus the Wlad of today I would say Vitali without thinking twice.

There is just too much difference in speed now days.

Also Wlad has improved his defense tremendusly. Before Vitali had an edge over Wlad in defense and he was deceptively hard to hit and land on, he was very good at head movement and slipping shots and timing the counters but these days his timing isnt what it was in 2004 and Wlad has improved his own defense under steward.

Vitali isnt probably going to be too aggressive at his own brother and so unlike fights he showed a lot of heart in like Lewis and Sanders, this one would start out as a boxing /sparring session and so Wlad takes this to UD with his better speed, better jab and the fact that Vitali's timing and speed have diminshed.

Plus I wouldnt be surprised if Vitali lets him win it. He always says Wlad is better and they both know that Wlad has the longer career left in him, so why would Vitali intentionally damange Wlads career?

No doubt it is a sparring session in which Vitali doesnt even give 100%.
