    well byrd DID beat vitlay, 40 years later when i have forgotten about the fight and i look at vitlays record on boxrec i am not going to remember how vitlay was winning a few rounds, all i will know is BYRD WON!

    You could also probably come up with examples of bad judging, but the analogies are not appropriate. Byrd finished on his feet and unhurt. Vitali quit. The officials did not abort this fight.

    DQ's historically would be the exception that proves the rule. All kinds of superior fighters have lost fights by DQ, especially in the old days. Losing because you can't or refuse to continue is different.
