A one armed Johnson made Vitali look buffoonish and marked his face up with just jabs. Vitali could barely clean over 12 rounds on a Johnson laying against the ropes.

You don`t think Wilder or AJ could do what Lewis did in the final round v Vitali? What the hell was he doing that was so special? He wasn`t using his reach, he just came charging forwards eating tons of shots because he was on the center line, how the hell was that showing IQ and what age would Lewis have had to be for these two to beat him?

 

No, I don't think they can do what Lewis did, or if they can, as well as he was able to. Neither DW or AJ has shown that level yet as pros. I'd be happy to re-assess each when they actually fight top HW's consistently. Sad thing, as bad as the 2000's were, today's HW scene is much worse.

 

There's a difference between 1 idiodic comment about Charles Martin and this topic. Look at any thread on h2h heavyweight lists on thisnforum andyou see vit in the top 5 consistently. I don't know of any other fighter that gets so much historical credit for doing so very little
