And treated him like Sam Peter.

Agreed or not? Vitali had iron chin himself unlike Fury, hit hard too.

It comes down to simply putting a long jab on Francis

Which any good 6'6"+ HW should be able to do. Vitali of course would do without problem.

Fury didn't and his feet were flat.

Fury from the 2nd Wilder fight threw a loghammer jab and he hasn't thrown it since. He had surgery on his left elbow after Wilder 3. He has been using ice packs on his elbows all week which he said it "prevention" but that's nonsense because once your cartilage goes, it's gone. You can't do anything. Usyk suffers the same with his right shoulder.

Kevin Johnson claimed that Fury was his hardest hitting opponent as of 2012, there's no good evidence Vitali punched harder than Fury. It's also a lot easier to avoid being dropped if 1. you're a consummate pro 2. you don't fight many tall, athletic puncher's.

Another way of looking at it is this: how would a 35 year old Riddick Bowe have done? He was retired by 29, came back and fought Billy Zumbrun to a split decision at 37. How would post-Wlad Joshua have done after getting dropped in the 3rd? Or a late career Mike Tyson? Or a Vitali who'd injured his shoulder?

Meh who cares. Ngannou is a ****ing MMA fighter. Hes not using a bunch of **** he could have used to win that fight easily and quickly, and he still did well.

Also Vitali got KTFO in kickboxing.

A large portion of Vitali and Wlad game was clinch fighting. These are guys that didn't start out only doing boxing.

Vitali did karate and kickboxing and most likely got his feet wet in judo.

People are overlooking how much clinch fighting Francis did to Fury in their fight. I believe that Vitali had fought Francis in his day, he would have met his match in the clinch , more so I think Francis is probably the best clinch fighter in all of boxing , past and present.

I also dont see the comparison between Sam and Francis. Sam Peter was fat and looked out of shape. He was a good condition fighter but did not have a discipline diet. He also did not have the same power threat.

I'm not trying to be a FN dick rider here, but i'm baffled why so many people are now acting like Fury is a bum and was never good anyways.

Francis is a fighter, doesn't matter what combat sport he is in. Violence is violence, this isn't like he came over from tennis . He's got those killer instincts.

We will never know. Vitali has fought guys like Solis, Adamek or Sosnowski in his prime. He was beaten by an old, past prime legend Lewis. Some wins looked good at the time of victory, such as Kevin Johnson but have aged very, very badly.

We can only speculate how the Klitschkos would have done during an era that had boxers who came to win. Both were beaten against the biggest names they fought.

Who cares Bowe was shot to bits. Everyone ages different. He would have obliterated Ngannou 0 difficulty in his prime, along with literally every fringe contender

Fury has turned his back on boxing by performing like dog**** against a retired mma fighter. We will never live this down unless he's been planning a rematch to dominate, which itself is ridiculous. You cannot defend him anymore

    "Bowe was shot to bits."

Fury looked shot to bits out there and unlike Tyson vs Williams or McBride he didn't lose or look for a way out. No fighter has come back from putting on and losing 10 stone + alcohol/drug addiction + long periods of inactivity. It's astonishing he's had so much success given these factors.

    "a retired mma fighter"

He's a full time boxer now. Let's see if Hearn puts lossua in with him, or Wilder for that matter.

"We will never live this down"

They're just silly people on the internet.

    "You cannot defend him anymore"

It's up to Fury where he goes from here. He'll be a clear underdog against Usyk, it's his job to prove us wrong. If he were to win it would be a significantly greater feat than it was before.

Vital would have put a beating on him not too unlike he did on Briggs.

Then perhaps he should just retire for the good of himself and the boxing community. Holding up the division, not doing crap, shaming the sport. The results are all that matter

"Then perhaps he should just retire"

Perhaps. I was saying that while watching the fight.

    "shaming the sport"

It was embarrassing, shouldn't have been sanctioned really. But money talks and many name heavies were in the mix for the Ngannou fight (Joshua, Wilder, Whyte, Joyce), even Wallin and Zhang said they'd be willing to do something like this for the money.

Many boxers who are not mentally unstable would toy with Francis.

Vitali would have beaten the snot outta Ngannou. Vitali was not a “clinch fighter” as some moron stated.
