What is his best win? It can either be a prime fighter, or a big name fighter. so who is it?

Definitely Sanders or Peter but i'll go with Peter because it was impressive doing that after a 4 year retirement.

VK looked ridiculously sharp against Peter, like he'd somehow shaken off all the rust in training & sparring. :good

Sanders was a very good win, but I don't like the way he came in such poor shape to only have 2 rounds of stamina. Still Vitali deserves high praise for this win, because of how devastating Sanders looked when he upset Wlad 13 months earlier. Overall I'd agree that Peter was the better win, because as you said VK was coming off a long retirement, & also i think that Peter would beat that particular Sanders. Although just to make it clear, Sanders in his Prime was better than Peter.

  8. Sam Peter was off of the retirement and at that time Peter was considered the new Tyson. Sanders was revenge for Wlad and was decent too.

Peter was NOT considered the new Tyson when Vitaly fought him.

As for Sanders? Never thought much of him. He's was Bert Cooper level fighter not somebody you have list as one of your greatest wins unless of course you have a thin resume.

Peter, Arreola, Johnson, Adamek, etc are better wins.

Peter's hype train was at full steam ahead prior to the first Wlad fight 3 years earlier, when he was undefeated.

Have to disagree with you there. Sanders held a win over Wladimir, and held the WBO strap for a bit. I rate Sanders higher than Adamek, Johnson and Arreola. In fact, what have Arreola and Adamek achieved in the division?

Arreola has fought one guy in the top 10 besides Vitali, and he got soundly outboxed by (blown up CW, who he held a 33 pound advantage over) Adamek.

Adamek is a blown up CW, who has one notable HW win against the grossly overrated Arreola.

I feel the same way about Johnson and Peter, neither had Sanders talent, and also Sanders holds the win over Wlad, which enhances his resume above theirs. Personally, I rank the Sanders win as the best on Vitali's resume. All have terrible HW resumes, Sanders is better with the win over Wlad.

    1. Sanders
    2. Peter

You can debate the rest after this

Spot on with everything you say here mate.

Vitali is a very good HW but it say's a lot when his two best wins are Peter and Sanders.

Vitali was very unlucky he never had the chance to face the truly fearsome Ibeabuchi.

I think VK could've went 2-1 in a trilogy with him, losing the initial encounter, but adapting to win the others.

Sanders got a win over Wladimir Klitschko. I get it. But let's not overrate him.

First off he never held the WBO title "for a bit" he simply won it off of Wlad and then vacated it a few months after without making a defense so that he can face Vitaly for the vacant WBC title.

Ross Purity has a win over Wlad; but there are fighters on Wlad's win column that are far better than Ross the Boss.

For me in terms of talent? I don't rate Sanders highly. Sanders on Vitaly's column is like Bert Cooper on Evander Holyfield's column.

Where does Arreola Rank among Vitaly's best wins?

    :patsch

I've seen Klitschko fans overrate Sanders so that they can try to justify Wlad's loss but he's a tomato can and he got lucky against a fighter he had no business beating in the first place.

Peter both Johnson are better fighters.

Take away the Wlad win and what do you have?

Wlad fought Sanders so that he showcase his talent as he auditioned for a Lewis fight. Sanders was a handpicked opponent; prior to the Wlad fight, he went 3 rounds against unheralded opposition in a 2 year period. The last "decent" fighter he faced was Hasim Rahman.

Ultimately, I'm not sure if you're trying to embarrass Vitaly by listing Sanders as his best win or you're trying to convince others that Sanders was a good fighter so that Wlad gets a pass.

    Try again.

Yep prime Sanders is better than Peter but coming back and beating the Nigerian after 4 years out is better than beating an already semi-retired Sanders who then went another 13 months between the Wlad and Vitali fights.

Sanders was dangerous early against Vitali which was expected, then it went to script with Sanders running out of steam and Vitali breaking him down from range with his arm punches.

    Peter is the better win.
